jump forever.

So, I Set Out To Find The Fastest,
Most Effective Way To Train
Vertical Jump...
A way that required less work…
And less hoops to jump through…
Which led me to a strength and conditioning coach in Minnesota.
His name was Cal Dietz.
And he was making his athletes FASTER and MORE
explosive without any kind of speed or explosiveness training.
In fact, one of the groups he trained using this method increased their
explosive speed 5 TIMES more than a group that was ACTUALLY
doing speed work.
It ALL came down to a strength training method he called “Triphasic
Training”.
I Immediately Started Using it
With
My Athletes
But I quickly ran into a few problems…
 The method was a LOT of work. It was VERY taxing on my
athletes’ nervous system. It left them totally drained. So while it’d
be great for someone who was JUST training for vertical jump,
athletes who had to juggle practice, games, and skills work would
be overwhelmed.


It neglected muscular activation. I noticed that almost ALL of my
athletes were either hip or knee dominant in their jump, which
meant they were leaving vertical jump inches on the table. If I
could get BOTH their knees and hips fully involved in their
jump, they’d be flying high in no time.
The training sessions that were just too long. Sometimes
sessions would last up to two, exhausting hours. Most athletes
don’t have time for that.
So I Went Back to The Drawing
Board
And after some trial and error…
Tweaking…
Experimenting….
And testing…
I realized that by applying the Triphasic Approach to plyometrics…
And rearranging the steps a bit…
Pairing it with more explosive lifts…
And muscle activation techniques…
I could fix the problems in the original system…
And create a Modified Triphasic
or “MT” Approach that would:




Help athletes get more juice out of their “jumping muscles”
Fix muscular deficiencies that hold athletes back from getting
the bounce they want
Activate neuromuscular loopholes that lead to HUGE increases
in bounce
Need less work with BETTER results
And most importantly…
Create a System That Increases
Your Vertical Jump By As Much As

But I still had to put it to the test…
That test started with Hayden - the high school hooper I told you about
before.
Hayden had a LOT of skill…
…But lacked the explosiveness he’d need to play at the next level.
After a handful of months together, his vert EXPLODED by 8 inches…
And more importantly…
He finally threw down in a game…
Then there was Ryan, a football player who trained with me for an
offseason…
By the end….
He was jumping 42 inches from a standstill…
And then there was Pat, a baseball player.
Now, baseball players aren’t known for high verticals…
But by the time Pat finished using this new system for 3 months…
He had the highest vertical in his organization…
Going from a 32 inch vertical to an ELITE 40 inch vertical.
The results in my facility were astounding…
But…
I Wanted to Find Out If This
Approach Would Work With

So, I slipped the “MT” Approach into their programs…
And the results were explosive.
Some of them saw 4, 5, and 6 inch increases in just 90 days.
One athlete even saw his vertical SOAR by 8 inches in under 90 days…

This System Worked Better Than
Anything I’d Seen Before
Now, I want to share exactly how this 4-step system works...

It all starts with...
STEP 1:
ACTIVATION
Most athletes skip this step, and as a result, they’re leaving results on the
table.
Because this step is all about activating your “jumping muscles”.
You might think that sounds like a no-brainer…
But what you don’t realize is…
Almost ALL athletes are either knee OR hip dominant jumpers…
They’re mainly using one or the other.
When you get BOTH muscle groups involved, you start jumping out of
the gym.
Funny enough, activating your jumping muscles doesn’t require
jumping at all.
Instead, it all comes down to long static holds that activate the explosive,
fast twitch muscle fibers housed in the glutes and quads.
This might sound counterintuitive…
But THIS is the small step that makes a massive difference in your
bounce.
It truly will separate you from all your competition on the court or field.
And once you’ve activated your jumping muscles, and have those fast
twitch fibers firing at full blast, we can move onto more dynamic
movements in…
STEP 2
ABSORPTION
Whenever you lower to the bottom portion of a jump…
Or a squat…
Your muscle is put on stretch…
And when your muscle is put on stretch, you store MASSIVE amounts
of elastic energy…
Similar to the energy of a rubber band when you stretch it as far as it can
go.
And this elastic energy can transfer into a POWERFUL vertical jump…
As your muscle “snaps” back to normal length (again, think of that
rubber band).
There’s only one thing holding you back from this kind of elastic
power.
It’s called Golgi tendon organ inhibition.
GTO inhibition naturally disrupts the body's displays of elastic energy.
Instead of allowing your stretched muscles to snap back into place,
creating high amounts of force…
GTO inhibition slams on the brakes and limits the amount of force
your body allows you to produce.
This happens naturally in EVERY athlete…
Until they’re taught to turn it off with deceleration and eccentric
training.
That’s what the absorption phase is all about…
Learning to store more elastic energy…
While removing the explosive limits the body naturally places on itself.
STEP 3
PROPULSION
This step is like increasing the torque of a race car.
See, getting an elite vertical jump requires you to generate a lot of force
quickly…
So the Propulsion Phase helps you do just that.
In this phase, we’re focused on PURE explosiveness.
We’ll focus on the isolated concentric movement…
The lifting portion of an exercise…
Without the eccentric, or pre-stretch portion…
That means you’ll be jumping and throwing to teach your body to
generate high amounts of power rapidly…

PEAK
