Republic of the Philippines Department of Education Region 1 Schools Division of Ilocos Norte PIDDIG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Supreme Student Government Brgy. 6, Tonoton, Piddig, Ilocos Norte Narrative Report on Activities The Math Club Officers diligently performed their roles and responsibilities to promote mathematical learning and foster a sense of community among math enthusiasts. This narrative report outlines the various activities they organized and executed during a specified period. There were 3 activities conducted by the Mathematics Club officers this school year 2022-2023. The first activity they have conducted is the Mathunghayan video making competition. MATHunghayan is a short video/film contest that introduces mathematics concepts in a creative and innovative way through a video presentation. This was during the Students Day and many students joined especially the Junior High Students. Their entries was more than the officers expected. Certificates and cash prize were given to the winners. The second activity that the Math Club officers conducted was the Sci-Math Challenge, also during the student’s day. It is a race of intelligence among students involving concepts in Science and Mathematics. The officers from Mathematics and Yes- O collaborated to make this activity happen. The participants formed a team of combination of Senior and Junior High School students so this activity also build friendship. They had to go through popping of balloons, crawling through muds, and blowing of pingpong balls in order to get the next questions and race to the finish line. Certificates and cash prize were given to the victors. As part of the Christmas program events planned by the Supreme Student Government (SSG), the officers put up a booth called Ishoot Mo!. This event was also a way to raise funds for the Math club. The Ishoot mo is a booth were the player has to shoot at least 1 of the rings. The prizes were school supplies chosen by the president of the Math club itself. The player is given four rings to shoot. Each bottle has its own prize and 4 ring shot means that the player gets to choose any of the grand prizes. The Math Club Officers demonstrated exceptional dedication and teamwork in organizing a range of activities to promote mathematical learning and community engagement. Through their efforts, they successfully conducted these activities. Six (6) representatives per year level. 2. There will be six (6) competing groups. Each group will be composed of six (6) members from the different year levels (Grade 7 - 12). 3. Just like a race, stations are assigned to random locations across the school campus. 4. Each station has a corresponding scientific or a mathematical task. 5. The group must finish the task before proceeding to the next station. 6. The first three (3) groups to reach final station shall be awarded as winners. 7. The player should first be able to shoot the ring in the first bottle to be able to shoot in the next bottle (and to win the corresponding prizes). 4. The player has to shoot at least 3 rings to win a prize. 2 rings shot will get tokens. 5. Through the leadership of the YES-O Club and the Math Society, they conducted an activity during the celebration of National Students’ Day called the “Sci-Math Challenge” where students engage to fun and entertaining games related to Science and Math. "Teamwork is the heart of great achievements". The officers of the math and yes-o club have successfully conducted and have reached the objectives of the event. They were able to enhance the mathematical and scientific skills of the students who participated, as well as to bring entertainment. Their hard work paid off and they were able to reach the place for 2nd runner Up. "Through teamwork and cooperation of our team, our abilities were able to achieve the best" quoted the ever-hardworking student of Grade 12 STEM, and the leader of their group, Mark Jansen Salvador. Their team started off as strangers, but through the connection of their abilities and their cooperative selves, they were able to reach the place for Champions.
