The movie bases itself around how a human might be able to survive on a plant with no life. Mark Watney the main character is strandered alone after being unable to leave the planet with his fellow astronauts. He who is limited with supplies tries to find various ways the survive the planet until the rescue mission comes to get him. Matt Damon who plays the character Mark and has played the character very well capturing both the fear and the thriving nature of human to stay alive.
