Prefixes are used as a substitute for powers of 10 in a number
Example 1:

or 3× 109 s
= 3 Gs
Example 2:

or 1.2 × 10−6 m
= 1.2 𝛍𝐦
Example 3:
86 000 000 v
or 86 x 106 v
= 86 Mv
