They get to respect and take care of the device because it is their own. It is a good way in which schools save money on buying new devices. 3.3 The disadvantages of BYOD are: Some learners may not have devices that are needed at school. Learners will have many different devices which becomes hard to give instructions that everyone can follow. There will be a lot of distraction caused by the devices carried in schools. Some learners are not responsible enough and they might end up.loosing the device. 3.4 Two of the biggest issues that arise from technology-based forms of education: paying for gadgets that quickly become obsolete and getting students to focus on using electronics for learning — not social networking. 3.5 Educators also worry that implementing bring your own device will increase the already significant divide between students from high- and lower-income families.
