Unit No. Fraction Topic: 1 Comparing fraction 1.1 (Fraction) Students learning outcomes: Students will be able to : to compare fraction with the same denominators by using symbols "<" and ">" and "=" Required Resources: Board, charts, diagrams of fraction drawn on the chart paper/poster text book Brainstorming: Teacher will display a diagram of fractions drawn on chart paper/ poster. then teacher will write a list of fraction with the same denominator, or bottom number on the bard , such as 1 3 and 2 3 . He/she will ask question from the students of the class to share a fraction comparison that they have noticed . listen students response and explain the them . if the denominator is the same , the larger numerator ,or top number which is written in above the bar is the grater fraction .For example: than 2 3 1 3 is less . Teacher also ask about the symbols like =,- ,×,÷, = , "<" and ">" after getting response majority may be not recognize symbol of "<" and ">" teacher will circle the symbol for explaining in detail . Building Knowledge: Teacher will draw the attention of the students to the board and explain the fraction with connecting the previous topic and then explain the students today will learn about the comparing fraction by using symbols greater then and less then . here first of all teachers will explain the diagram gram which he/she has already show to them during asking questions. then teacher will draw pictorial fraction on the boad and explain it with detail step by step. in this picture is less than 3 4 so we can use this symbol for less than "<" and same which is given in the picture. 2 4 Classroom Activity No. 1: Teacher will divide students into four groups, and distribute the chart of diagrams ' of fraction to them , every group came towards the board and explain t the charts in front of the class teacher and rest of the students were support the group if any of them stuck in any step and one by one all 4 group will give explain their chart of comparing fraction in detail and end of the class teacher will appreciate them.. The teacher will help out the students as per need. Problem Solving Practice: Students will solve the following worksheet/exercise with the support and guidance of the teacher. Q1: use the symbols = , "<" and ">" to compare fraction accordingly . Assessment: Teacher will assess the students after completion of the whole lesson plan by asking following questions randomly: tick the correct and cross in front of the questions accordingly. 2 2 = 4 4 5 25 > 6 36 21 14 2 4 > > 2 14 2 4 12 15 28 48 < = 21 15 2 48
