Jason (6) & Tyler (9) Before the Head Shaves Frost Road Elementary School Cuts for Cancer April 25, 2014 Help us make cancer history! It is estimated that in 2013: 96,200 Canadian men will be diagnosed with cancer and 39,400 men will die from cancer. 91,400 Canadian women will be diagnosed with cancer and 36,100 women will die from cancer. On average, over 500 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer every day. On average, over 200 Canadians will die from cancer every day. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada and is responsible for about 30% of all deaths. My family and I lost a very close cousin to cancer few years ago. Last year, I lost two more friends, with the second friend passed away just days before Christmas. This year, I have four friends that are battling with cancer. With the endorsement and help of Frost Road Elementary School, Surrey BC, my two sons (ages 6 & 9), my husband, my nephew, myself, and the students of Frost Road Elementary school will be participating in a "head shave and cuts for cancer event" to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society. The event will be held in the school gym on April 25, 2014. The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies. Please pledge and help us and the Frost Road Elementary School students reach the fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Won't it be nice to know that the funds you donate today may help to save someone or your own life one day???
