HUMOR AND JOYFULNESS
WEEK 1
(SEPTEMBER 12-16, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Joyfulness is an intense feeling of
good, and is usually associated
with God’s triumph over evil while
Humor is something that is or is
designed to be comical or amusing.
A joyful person feels right about his
relationship to God, to himself, and
to others. Joy is not quite the same
as happiness, because happiness
often depends on outside events.
Joyfulness on the other hand, is an
inner gladness that can exist no
matter what happens.
Humor and Joyfulness sheds light
on the optimism and positivity of
Filipinos in whatever situation they
are in so as to remain determined
in going through struggles or
challenges. It serves as a coping
technique, the same way a child
who has fallen laughs at
himself/herself to hide his/her
embarrassment.
LEADERSHIP
WEEK 2
(SEPTEMBER 19-23, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Leadership captures the essentials of
being able and prepared to inspire
others. Effective leadership is based
upon ideas—both original and
borrowed—that are effectively
communicated to others in a way that
engages them enough to act as the
leader wants them to act. Leadership
requires traits that extend beyond
management duties. As the quotation
saya “With great power comes great
responsibility” this is true because if
you want to be great, be the servant of
all.
ORIGINALITY
WEEK 3
(SEPTEMBER 26-30, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“Originality is undetected
plagiarism”. It naturally comes
out because of our original
nature. The above inference is
best illustrated by artists or
sculptors. They create artistic
works out of scraps or bare
objects but undoubtedly the
products of their imagination or
visible manifestations of who they
are. What comes out is what has
been initially formed or created
internally.
PERSEVERANCE
WEEK 4
(OCTOBER 3-7, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Perseverance calls for steadfastness
and persistent determination in
pursuing our vision, mission,
aspirations or assignments in the
context of family, work, community and
our nation. With a firm resolve,
perseverance enables one to
withstand all forms of obstacles and
weather every setback. When passion
seems to fade away and disillusion
sets in, perseverance calls us to go
back to the purpose of our pursuit and,
more often than not, even the very
purpose of our existence.
RESOURCEFULNESS
WEEK 5
(OCTOBER 10-14, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Some define resourcefulness as the ability
to deal skillfully and promptly with new
situations and difficulties. Some define it as
the ability to meet situations. For others,
resourcefulness mean having the necessary
resources to adapt to different situations and
effectively solve problems. Many of us are
being tested in the area of resourcefulness
in the many facets of our lives. Some are
tested in the area of financial
resourcefulness, some in decision making
while for others, in the area of their task or
work - young or old. This value is prominent
during contests and competitions wherein
the contestants were given limited time and
resources.
SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY
WEEK 6
(OCTOBER 17-21, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Why do they say, “With great power comes
great responsibility?” Why do leaders often
take the blame for their subordinates’
mistakes? It is because sense of responsibility
is what balances power and makes a leader
distinct from his follower.
Sense of responsibility is a sign of maturity.
That’s why keys to kingdoms are not given to
babes. Standing for the consequences of
one’s decisions, attitude and actions
establishes fairness. A person’s character is
reflected by owning the responsibility of
sustaining what he/she has started. As
leaders in our own right, we have to take
responsibility in all spheres of our lives.
REFLECTION
VALUE FOR WORK
WEEK 7
(OCTOBER 24-28, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“He who does not work shall not eat” as they
say. Hard work brings food on the table while
laziness brings hunger. “Lazy hands make
for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.”
Every generation has its own way of
showing how to value work. Baby boomers,
for one, are known to be hard-working. Born
in an era where nations need to start
building after the war, they needed to literally
get their hands soiled in order to produce
results. One characteristic that is admirable
in this generation is the patience to see the
results of what they have worked for. The
downside, however, is that their work ethics
were carried up to the present with the
expectation that the next generation would
carry the same.
WISDOM
WEEK 8
(OCTOBER 31- NOVEMBER 4, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Wisdom is a principal thing which is
indispensable to live a fulfilled and
meaningful life. Wisdom is the ability to
execute a prepared plan or blueprint. It is
the ability to make good judgments based
on what you have learned from your
experience, or the knowledge and
understanding. It is also the ability to
answer the question “How to..?” and
endows a man to have the means to do it.
“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but
of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.” This
was also what the wisest king in Israel
taught: acquire wisdom first by having
Godly fear.
REFLECTION
How can we gain wisdom? Wisdom
can be found if we love and please
God, and not want to deviate from His
teachings and commandments, that
is, walking in a manner worthy of our
calling as the sons of God.
If all possess the wisdom from above,
we will have a strong house, a strong
agency, and a strong nation. No work
of the enemy shall ever prosper
because our walls are strong and
there is no foothold for the enemy. Let
us continue to receive the wisdom
from above and live as wise nation
builders!
SPIRITUALITY
WEEK 9
(NOVEMBER 7-11, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Spirituality is the condition of being
spiritual rather than the performance
or compliance of religious rites,
ceremonies, rituals, or obligations. It
was derived from the belief that we
are created beings with three
elements or aspects: body, soul, and
spirit. The spirit forms part of the
nature of a person that eventually
reflects his/her personality and
lifestyle. The body disintegrates into
the ground when buried but the spirit
remains alive.
CHARITY
WEEK 10
(NOVEMBER 14-18, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“Your smile for your brother is a charity.
Your removal of stones, thorns or bones
from the paths of people is a charity.
Your guidance of a person who is lost is
a charity.”(Bukhari). Charity is an
automatic expression of our love for our
neighbors as we love ourselves, thereby
fulfilling the second greatest
commandment of God. Gautama Buddha
encourages us to fill our minds with
compassion; sacrifice, then, will be an
inevitable result. Give until it feels good.
By doing so, we store for ourselves
treasures that moth and rust cannot
destroy. Treasures in life such as peace,
joy and fulfillment.
CONVICTION
WEEK 11
(NOVEMBER 21-25, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines
conviction as an unshakable belief in
something without need for proof or
evidence, or a strong persuasion or
belief. These are principles set upon
ourselves that we hold on and are
sometimes non-negotiable. When our
conviction is violated, we feel that we
are also devaluing. When we face
temptations and other instances where
our convictions are shaken, we too,
feel that our person is shaken. Our
convictions must not be shaken lest
we stand on a shaky ground.
FAITH
WEEK 12
(NOVEMBER 28-DECEMBER 2, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“He who began a good work in us will bring it to
completion.”
If we are chosen to carry a task, that means we
are approved to function. The ones who chose
us did not do so without reason at all. They
must have seen who we are and what they can
do through our lives. They have faith in us. They
faith in our generation. There is no accident in
life. Everything happens for a reason. If God
has chosen us, is there anything too difficult for
Him to do through us? He created the heavens,
the earth and everything in them. He made hard
hearts soft and proud heads humble. He set
men as kings and brought down those in power.
Is there anything he cannot do through our
lives? The next time we are tempted to doubt,
let’s remember - God has faith that we can do it!
HUMILITY
WEEK 13
(DECEMBER 5-9, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“A man’s pride shall bring him low; but honor
shall uphold the humble in spirit” To us, humility
means being respectful, truthful and confident
but never arrogant. This is important when
developing innovative technology, and to ensure
we stay ahead of competition. It means
establishing our credibility through predictability
and integrity. Applying the value of humility in
this time of adversity is very essential and
needful. We have known of God’s promise which
has been reminded to us throughout the land
since the start of the pandemic. It is being
flashed on television channels and is being
broadcasted on radio stations. It is explicit: “If
My people who are called by My Name shall
humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and
turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from
heaven and will heal their land”.
FORGIVENESS
WEEK 14
(DECEMBER 12-16, 2022)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
Everyone of us sinned against others and
God, hence, we experienced to be at the
mercy of others. However, it is easier to
ask for forgiveness than to forgive. Many
of us may have nurtured hurts that even
disturbed our peace or caused us to get
mentally, emotionally, physically or
spiritually ill.
Forgiveness benefits us more than the
person who owes us forgiveness. It may
not be easy but it takes a decision to end
your suffering. Why do we choose to be
prisoners of unforgiveness when we can
live a peaceful and joyful life? When we
forgive, we release ourselves from the
prison we ourselves made.
GODLINESS AND HOLINESS
WEEK 15
(JANUARY 2-6, 2023)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
We are all created in the image and likeness of
God. “Likeness” pertains to God’s divine nature
deposited in us. One of which is Holiness.
However, to understand holiness, we must first
have the mind of Christ and the mind of the
Lord.
The word “HOLY” means “sacred and is set
apart from the profane or unclean” and “set
apart for God.” It states that we are to cut
ourselves or be separated from the irreverent
things or principles of this world we live in. It is
also living a pure life dedicated to God and
consecrated. This principle was revealed in the
book of Torah- also called the Pentateuch. We
may be generous with pious intentions or even
compassionate; but if we live our lives not
totally consecrated or dedicated to God, “we are
all like an unclean thing, and all our
righteousness are like filthy rags; We all fade as
a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, will take
us away.”
OBEDIENCE
WEEK 16
(JANUARY 9-13, 2023)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
“Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned
obedience from the things he suffered”
(Hebrews 5:8, NLT). We don’t teach kids to
obey for our own convenience. We teach
obedience because hidden within that character
quality are a number of principles that will help
children to be successful in life. When kids learn
obedience, they learn to consider the needs of
others. They learn to be a little less selfish.
They learn to fit into the agenda of those around
them. They learn to submit to authority.
Obedience involves learning to do what you’re
asked even when you think you have a better
way. The person who has learned obedience
knows how to listen to an instruction, how to
follow through without being watched, and how
to report back when the job is done.
PEACE
WEEK 17
(JANUARY 16-20, 2023)
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED?
A lot of people, in all walks of life, long and
clamor for peace. They want to have and
experience peace in their relationships,
workplace, and at home. The citizens of the
nations desire national and world peace, which
to them, the halt of struggles and wars. Peace,
as with all virtues, starts in oneself before it
would be experienced by the family, community,
and humanity. In man’s sinful condition though,
he is an enemy to God. Thus, peace is obtained
by receiving from “the Prince of Peace”, Jesus
Christ. He says, “Come to me, all you who are
weary and burdened and I will give you rest”.
Truly, “our heart is restless until it finds its rest
in him.”
A Hebrew word that embodies peace is shalom.
Peace, also means “success, completeness,
and welfare.”
