Assessing Personality Psychology 04/2021 Assessing Personality The first tests that I took was the Big Five personality test. According to the research on how people describe others, five major dimensions of human personality have been found. They are often referred to as the O.C.E.A.N. model of personality; the acronym from the names of the five dimensions. My results were high for open mindedness (0.81), mid results for conscientiousness (0.69), high for extraversion (0.79), mid results for agreeableness (0.64), and low for negative emotionality (0.36). I went over my results with my cousin and it reflected my personality closely. I would say if you answered the questions as honestly as you can, you could get pretty accurate results. The second test I took was the Keirsey Assessment. It revealed that I am the portrait of an Artisan. Artisans make up 30% of the population. They are fun-loving, optimistic, unconventional, bold, playful mates, creative parents, seek stimulation and mastering of action skills. According to this test I believe that variety is the spice of life, and that doing things that aren't fun or exciting is a waste of time. We can also be generous to a fault, always ready to share with their friends from the bounty of life. Above all, it states Artisans need to be free to do what they wish, when they wish. They resist being tied or bound or confined or obligated; they would rather not wait, or save, or store, or live for tomorrow. I agreed with some aspects of this personality assessment. I would not say I am as carefree as the results described, but that is definitely one of the facets of my personality. I think as I got old, and responsibility was pushed on me I unfortunately grew out of my spontaneity.
