Duties include but are not limited to the design and planning of plumbing systems, installing pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, installing fire hydrant and hose reel systems, connecting irrigation systems, and other physical/manual labouring tasks including use of hand tools, small plant and equipment. The incumbent must possess a current driver’s licence (car); a first aid certificate (or willingness to participate in training), their own basic tools of trade, steel cap safety boots, as well as the ability to undertake manual labouring tasks. This position requires the incumbent to work outdoors in a tropical climate, undertake lifting and other physically demanding tasks, and travel across a number of sites/locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities 1. Perform general plumbing work including installing storm water, sanitary and water piping systems, assembling and installing pipes, valves, fittings and fixtures, and testing pipe systems and fixtures for leaks. 2. Perform physical labouring tasks associated with plumbing work such as lifting and adjusting heavy objects, concreting and rendering, and cleaning up work site. 3. Safe and effective operation and maintenance of assigned tools, plant and equipment associated with the job using required Personal Protective Equipment. 4. Perform all activities in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth Workplace Health and Safety legislation and AD Plumbing’s Safety Plan. 5. Communicate with clients, other trades people and members of the public in an effective, polite and courteous manner in accordance with AD Plumbing’s Code of Conduct. 6. Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing water supply networks and waste and drainage systems. 7. Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing work and associated physical/manual labouring tasks in a safe manner. 2. Previous experience in plumbing work within the construction industry. 3. Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications. 3. Effective verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and good literacy and numeracy skills. 4. Effective stress and time management skills. 5. Ability to operate, maintain and work safely with hand tools, small plant and equipment. 6. Ability to work cooperatively with other trades. 7.
