Numerical exercises about the single-phase equivalent circuit of DFIG
1. The DFIG specifications for a wind turbine are: rated voltage (line to line) Unom = 690 V; frequency
f= 50 Hz; stator resistance Rstat= 0.058 Ω; rotor resistance R’rot= 0.047 Ω; leakage reactance of
stator-rotor XDsr= 0.126 Ω; slip s= -0,05; # of magnetic poles: 4; apparent resistance of electronic
converter R’app= 0,097 Ω. Calculate: angular speed of the rotor; air-gap power and mechanical
power; BEC power injected into the grid; generator efficiency; generated power. (3 pts)
