Objective: Students will be able to check appropriate hand tools for proper operation and safety, and
identify and mark unsafe or faulty tools for repair according to standard company procedure.

(1) Review: Ask the students about the importance of proper tool handling and safety in the workplace.
(2) Motivation: Show a video or a news article about accidents in the workplace caused by improper tool
handling. Discuss with the students the possible consequences of such accidents.
(3) Activity:
Divide the class into groups of three or four.
Provide each group with a set of hand tools and ask them to inspect each tool for proper operation and
safety.
Instruct the students to identify and mark any unsafe or faulty tool for repair according to standard
company procedure.
After inspecting the tools, ask the groups to present their findings and discuss their observations with
the rest of the class.
