Day 1 GRABBING ATTENTION The first day of the 3 Day New Patient Machine is all about grabbing attention. Two ways we love to do this: 1. Subject line Make the subject line really jump out (for the right reasons). Here is something to think about when creating your subject line. People respond to Problems, Opportunities, Secrets, Events and “new” things. Based on what you are promoting in your email content, choose a subject line theme from the above and Grab Attention. The goal here is to increase your open rate. My favourite way to get an “open” is to use the person’s first name. It makes it personal and is proven to get a higher open rate. A simple suggestion to get your mind ticking over: Subject: Would you like help with your XYZ problem? By mixing up the above you’ll come up with some great innovative ways to get your audience opening your emails GRABBING ATTENTION Day 1 2. Introduce the event You’ll remember from my videos that people like to make event-based decisions. It gives context as to “why” you are running a promotion which is extremely powerful. Personally, I like making promotions event based because it feels way less “pushy” for me to write the actual content. I hope you feel the same way; your marketing should be fun for you to write and even more fun for your audience to experience. Common event reasons can be related to major events, local events, seasonal celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, the beginning of the year, end of the year, clinic birthday, your birthday, literally anything you want – just give it “context” as to why you are running it. In the example I’ve included here, the event I reference is one that I wrote for myself that was insanely successful. I called the event “headache week”. I’m not sure if there even is a headache week to be honest, but we celebrated a headache week at our clinic and it was great! You get the idea…have some fun with it. Day 2 INCREASING THE DESIRE The second day of the 3 Day New Patient Machine is all about increasing the desirability of your promotion. Inside this email you’ll follow up with your patient to make sure they didn’t miss your email from the day before. It’s quite simple to do this. In fact, you can recycle your first email and use this in email 2. So, what to use as the subject line? Great question. Well, let’s keep it simple and copy and paste this subject. Subject: Did you miss this (name)? You can create more variations of course, the above two work great if you want to directly swipe them. CALL TO ACTION Day The third day of the 3 Day New Patient Machine is all about calling your audience to action. The best way to do this is to let your audience know that the opportunity is coming to an end. Depending on where you are in the world, you may need to play around with the subject lines and time frames mentioned as there are different advertising laws and professional body guidelines. So please make sure you always check those in advance and comply accordingly. Remember the point of a subject line is to just get the open. The more eyeballs you have on your offer the better. So what to use as the subject lines on day three? Great question. To keep things simple, just reference that the “event” that you are running is coming to a close. Swipe this subject line: Last chance for (name) 3 Ready TO DO THIS? LET’S GO!!! STEP 1 IDENTIFY PATIENT TYPE TO TARGET The first thing to do is to identify “who” it is that you want to attract into your practice to work with in the first place. If you could wave a magic wand, who is that you would want to work with? Once you're clear on exactly who it is that you want to work with, I'll take you through how to attract them with my step by step system. N.B this is not a trick question, you can't choose "everyone". Nail it down to a specific niche. For example, do you get great results with headache patients? Or is neck pain your thing, back pain, foot pain or teeth whitening? You get the idea. I have 3 criteria in identifying your target patient: 2. Who is it that you enjoy working with? 1. Who is that you can get a great result for? First of all, choose someone that you can get great results with. This is for a few reasons. First of all, it means that you are able to make a massive difference in their life (which is no doubt why you are in practice in the first place right?!) and secondly, when they get a result with you they will become an immediate walking, talking referral engine for you. So choose someone that you can get a great result for. This is a really important question to ask of yourself. You’re going to be working with the target market that you choose, so you need to enjoy working with them or it’s going to be a grind when they come in. 3. Who is it that is your most profitable target patient? Choose someone that is profitable. End of story. When you have a demographic in mind that matches all of the above three points i.e. someone you can help dramatically, someone that is profitable to treat, and fun to work with, then you have your niche chosen. STEP 2 IMPORT YOUR PATIENT LIST You're going to be communicating with your patients via email. Marketing is about testing and measuring. Why do you ask? Email meets these requirements whereas other media platforms, fall well short. Good question, let me answer it for you. Quite simply it's the cheapest (free in many cases), it's instant (unlike direct mail), and it’s measurable. Yes that's right, you can track open rates of your emails and compare open rates for different headlines and topics. Cool isn't it? You’re welcome!
