Executive Summary
All kinds of businesses may function more effectively, boost revenues, and automate
inventory processes with the use of inventory management software. Any firm that has
inventory, regardless of the sector in which it operates, can benefit from using inventory
management software to increase operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and overall
profitability.
The objective of this thesis project is to use inventory sales to construct an
effective inventory system in the Store of De Asis. The proprietors are aware that inputting
products will facilitate inventory management and sales tracking for the grocery business.
Innovation in technology and other strategies to make shopping more of an experience,
whether it be in-person or online, will have an impact on the future of groceries. Many goods are
the same and have descended into commodity status. Customers compare brands based on their
experiences, and this is particularly true in the grocery sector. Future grocery stores will put a lot
more emphasis on experiences than just buying items. Customers will choose the store because it
provides a convenient or advantageous experience, not because of the things it sells.Learning
how to manage inventory efficiently is critical to any business that sells physical goods.
Anything that involves your products, from timely ordering to proper receiving, tracking and
storage, is part of inventory management. It’s vital to get these things right because mistakes
here directly impact your bottom line. By minimizing lost sales, misplaced stock and excess
ordering, inventory management boosts your profits and can even reduce your taxes.

1.2.1
Objectives
The inventory system is a tool for managing product usage. The
development of barcode scanning-based inventory system will enable
highly accurate data collection, processing, and on-site item transfer.
The system uses Java as its programming language to develop a
functional barcode reader and recognition mechanism. The effects of
external interference factors and the problem of unrecognizability of
unclean barcodes on barcode identification are examined. The
inventory system now uses digital image processing technology,
which improves the system's barcode identification speed and
accuracy. The system being developed has been put through on-site
testing to ensure that it satisfies the enterprise's criteria for the sale of
groceries and that it can accurately and efficiently complete the
information needed for inventory and payment of items within a
given time frame. The cost and labor cost of barcode scanning time
are significantly decreased when compared to the prior use of the
inventory system.

(Panganiban, Jenefer P. Bermusa
2020, International Journal of Scientific & Technology Research)
The world today is full of innovations. Every year, people can see and discover different
inventions such as gadgets, machines, electronics, and many others which are timely in this
generation which makes these inventions to become life easier. Technology is used mostly by
people in schools, jobs, and offices every day. Through this, the authors established a paper that
applied technology for grocery stores. The grocery store companies have many targets. Through
their business plans, they typically detail those targets well before the start of new f fiscal years.
These companies can best reach their goals by staying customer-focused, offering their
customer-wanted products and services. That is why most grocery store firms also developed
comprehensive marketing plans to achieve their key goals. Marketing strategies help the owner
Identify their target customers better and shop the concept better. With these problems, the
researchers came up with an idea, which is to develop
Management System with Replenishment Decision‖. The main purpose of the study is to
help the groceries in inventory, quantity, and sales as well as in receiving reports promptly and to
give a better and exclusive way for communication. The researchers developed the system based
on the conceptual framework and system architecture established after determining the problems
in the existing problem. The researchers used alpE.

Inventory Purchase Recommendation for Merchants in Traditional FMCG Retail Business.
Ying Li+ 2 authorsJoy He-Yueya2022, International Conference on Data Science
and Advanced Analytics
The Small and micro merchants in the traditional Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
retail business play a vital role in developing economies. In Indonesia, 82% of the population
gets their day-to-day groceries from traditional trade merchants. Our work aims to help these
grocery merchants prosper by increasing their sales and improving their inventory turnover cycle.
To this end, we conduct an in-depth analysis of merchants’ inventory-buying behaviors from a
transaction record datasets and propose several item recommendation methods for merchants’
inventory based on insights gathered from the data. For analysis, we investigate the stockkeeping unit (SKU) coverage, the SKU selling speed, merchant repeat purchase patterns, the
growth rate of monthly spending, as well as their correlations with total monetary spending by
merchants. Our recommendation methods consider rec ency and utility of SKU selling speed,
and are implemented using popular item-based recommendation and content-based filtering
algorithms. The inventory recommendation system was deployed and tested in production. Initial
results show a lift in click-through rate (CTR) and also show that merchants are accepting the
recommendations of SKU items for their inventory that they had never bought before. Inventory

METHODOLOGY, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
A procedure or set of processes used in software development is called a methodology. Once
more, very general, but it includes things like a design phase and a development phase. It
involves several ways of considering things like waterfalls as non-iterative processes. Usually, it
takes the shape of clearly defined phases. It is intended to explain the specifics of a piece of
software's life cycle.
Agile is one of the project management approaches. The flexibility of the development team to
divide large projects into smaller tasks emphasizes a quick and flexible approach. The team may
do these tasks in fewer iterations while still collecting input on these more manageable portions,
allowing for more frequent communication with clients and test users. This approach assists in
reducing hazards, quickening development, improving client satisfaction, and removing
redundancies. Because developers receive client feedback throughout the development and
testing cycle, this might be a great method to adopt for projects that require prolonged
collaboration.
Greater visibility facilitates hazard prediction and facilitates the development of workable
mitigation plans.
Agile project management does not require the oversight of a project manager. Instead,
teams assume a project manager's responsibilities to enhance cooperation and internal
communication. Teams adapt to altering input and intended goals, results are assessed more
frequently rather than just at the end, and this leads to a continuous improvement process.

The implementation plan for the sales and inventory focuses on creating an acessible point of
sales, The majority of merchants today employ a bar code optical scanning technology for
inventory management as well as customer checkout. This kind of fully automated system
enables flexible, almost real-time inventory control and provides management with a wealth of
real-time information on current stocks. Bar code systems are constrained by the need for laborintensive scanning of inventory to enter data into databases and by the vulnerability of bar codes
to damage, smudging, and removal. Developing a user-friendly website a sales inventory
system ,implementing acessible data in sales, . The plan emphasizes a reliable system for
tracking inventories has significant financial advantages. When you have this level of inventory
management, it's simpler for you to understand how many units of a product you now stock, how
many units you've bought from the supplier, how much you paid for them, how many units
you've already sold, and how much money they earned.

identifying problems like understocking and overstocking of items that may have a
negative impact on cash flow. The business owner can then use this information to plan
for the future of the company and monitor its profitability. The created website offers a

the store and quickly see its overall sales. Poor inventory management is a major
contributor to many of the problems that organizations encounter, including stock outages,
excess inventory (which ties up cash), obsolete inventory, spoilage, and more.Your
bottom line improves when you implement inventory management software along with
inventory control technology. By automating the ordering and tracking process
throughout a product's sales cycle, using technology to support inventory management
helps your business keep on top of things. Over all the successful implementation of the
sales inventory system has greatly influenced De Asis Store, producing useful and
accessible information about sales in the stores. Ongoing system monitoring and

RECOMMENDATIONS
It is strongly advised to move on with its implementation based on a thorough assessment
and meticulous analysis of the research done on establishing a sales and inventory system for De
Asis Store with a real-time sales inventory. This system will be a simple-to-use tool and platform
that allows for easy monitoring of sales or merchandise. For inventory optimization to occur,
proper inventory data must be maintained. However, considering that inventory records are
updated every time an item is bought or sold, it's equally crucial to constantly examine the data
to maintain it current.
The management of inventories is a difficult procedure with several steps. You must
process customer orders, prepare and send invoices, manage suppliers, and many other tasks.
Manually performing all of this is time-consuming and prone to data entry mistakes. Automate
these procedures with inventory management software to lower the possibility of human error.
An inventory management may generate buy invoices for new and repeat purchases,
automatically track existing inventory levels, classify products into several batches, provide realtime reports, and keep an eye on stock movement. In order to prevent stockouts, you can set
automated reorder points.
