Man’s static desire in a state of flux
by: K.B. De Borja
Some people preconceived that you should become mature
enough when you are in an adolescent stage of age. For me that's
wrong. Not the concept of “being mature” but I'm disagreeing with
the concept of when you become in legal age you should become
matured absolutely already.
Man has no such absolute maturity state for a brief period of
time such as adolescent stage of age. Man is a transitory being in a
state of flux striving towards self-actualization(static state) that I
think, for me, is the state of absolute maturity. All humans such as
our friends, our parents, our community, our government, and even
me and you reading this still striving for integrating ourselves
everyday and we also teaching each other through constructive
criticism, good or bad experiences, and life lessons. It will depends
always on you on how will you deal with it because everyday is an
opportunity to change whether good or bad and progressive or
regressive state which makes you in the future.
This also prove that "Man is an unfinished being that still strives
everyday for becoming actualized human itself” and “Man’s main
task is to give birth to himself” by Erich Fromm(as cited in Collin
et.al, 2012) .In reality most of us failed to attain such state stated
above as what Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Needs described and
prescribed. There is no such absolute age requirement to attain
such static state but I believe that adolescence and above stages
can be prescribed range of age. In
conclusion,
for
every
opportunity to change towards self-actualization there's an
obstacle in it,it can be external or internal conflicts. So that let’s
help each other, understand each other shortcomings, give what
you can give, and for every obstacle, please be not the obstacle for
others to grow and become actualized!
