LEFT DOOR LEAF INSTALLATION As per Figure 12, sheets 1, 2 and 3 - Fit lower axis (section B-B) in its existing structure hole, depth will be adjusted adding 1 or 2 washers item 20 if necessary. - Fit and adjust upper door axis position item 21 (section A-A) in its existing structure hole (by screwing and unscrewing screws item 22), depth will be adjusted adding 1 or 2 washers item 20 if necessary. - Adjust actuator item 62 in horizontal position (by screwing and unscrewing screws item 63). - Lock the two latches item 3. B. RIGHT DOOR LEAF INSTALLATION As per Figure 12, sheets 1, 2 and 3 - Fit and adjust lower and upper axis position (Sections A-A and B-B) in their existings structure holes (by screwing and unscrewing screws item 22), depth will be adjusted adding 1 or 2 washers item 20 if necessary. - Lock the two latches item 4. - Close the two door leaves. - Verify that the two manuals lockers on right leaf fit in their housings on left leaf. DOOR ADJUSTMENT As per Figure 6, sheets 1 and 2 Adjust the threshold position item 57 in order to get alignment of door leaves, and lock screws item 60 and item 61. - Adjust staple box item 53 with screws item 54, in order to eliminate any sticking constraint between staple box item 53 and upper door staple itself. - Verify that upper and lower door staples are engaged for at least 5 mm (0.2 in), if not remove the left leaf handle cover and adjust the upper and/or lower staple by means of threaded rods, tight nuts, and re-install the left leaf handle cover. As per Figure 12, sheet 4 - With the door closed, measure the gap between the two door leaves, at the top and at the bottom of the door, and verify that the average value is between 46.9 mm and 43.4 mm (1.846 in and 1.709 in). D. LOCKS ADJUSTMENT (Upper and lower) As per Figure 12, sheets 1 and 3 - Unscrew screws item B. - Adjust screws item A to get 1.5 mm (0.06 in) between item C and item D. - Tight screws item B. - Connect 612VC-A on door. D. TESTS (1) Re-energize the aircraft electrical network and disconnect the aircraft from ground as per AMM (JIC) 24-40-00 EAD 10000. (2) Close the door and verify, on the door, that the two electromagnetic locks work properly. If not perform adjustment of threshold and/or upper staple, according to paragraph 3.C.(4)(b). "DOOR INSTALLATION SEQUENCE" chapters C and D, in order to obtain co-planarity of the two door leaves. (3) Operational test of cockpit door (a) With the cockpit door open, check that: - The electrical latches are not activated, - The "fault" light is not illuminated, and the "open" light is illuminated on the cockpit panel. - The buzzer is not activated. - The "deny" light on the door panel is not illuminated, and the "open" light is illuminated. (b) Perform lights test in the cockpit and check that: - The "fault" & "open" lights are illuminated on the cockpit panel. - The "open" & "deny" lights on the door panel are illuminated. (d) Routine call test 1 In the cargo compartment, depress the "routine call" pushbutton and check that : If no action on the cockpit panel control switch (always in "norm" position): - The buzzer on the cockpit panel is activated for 3 seconds. - The door stays electrically closed. - The "fault" & "open" lights are not illuminated on the cockpit panel. - The "open" & "deny" lights on the door panel are not illuminated. 2 Repeat 3.D.(3)(d)1, and then move the cockpit panel control switch to open position, before the end of the 3 seconds delay, then check that: - The buzzer on the cockpit control panel stops when the switch reaches the open position. - As long as the switch stays in open position, the door is electrically open, the "open" lights on the cockpit control panel & on the door control panel are illuminated. In this configuration check that the door can be opened. Close again the cockpit door and check that the operations are identical to those described in paragraph 3.D.(3)(c). 3 Repeat 3.D.(3)(d)1, and then the crew moves the cockpit panel control switch to deny position, before the end of the 3 seconds delay, then check that : - The buzzer on the cockpit control panel stops when the switch reaches the deny position. - The deny light on the door control panel is illuminated. - The door stays electrically closed. SERVICE BULLETIN ATR42 In this configuration the cockpit door remains closed, and check that for 3 minutes a new "routine call" from the cokpit door panel is inhibited. (e) Emergency call test In the cargo compartment, depress the "emergency call" pushbutton and check that: 1 If no action on the cockpit panel control switch (always in "norm" position): - The buzzer on the cockpit panel is activated for 30 seconds. - The "open" lights on the cockpit control panel & on the door panel flash for 30 seconds. - The door stays electrically closed during the 30 seconds delay. - The "fault" light is not illuminated on the cockpit panel. - The "deny" light on the door panel is not illuminated. - After 30 seconds the buzzer stops. - The door electrical latches are de-energized for 10 seconds. In this period the "open" light on the cockpit control panel & on the door control panel are illuminated, and the cabin crew can open the door. Then close the door again and check that the operations are identical to those described in paragraph 3.D.(3)(c). 2 Repeat 3.D.(3)(e)1, and then move the cockpit panel control switch to open position before the end of the 30 seconds delay, then check that: - The buzzer on the cockpit control panel stops when the switch reaches the open position. - As long as the switch stays in open position, the door is electrically open, the open lights on the cockpit control panel & on the door control panel are illuminated. In this configuration the cabin crew can open the cockpit door. Close again the cockpit door and check that the operations are identical to those described in paragraph 3.D.(3)(c). In this configuration the cockpit door remains closed, and check that for 3 minutes a new "routine call" or "emergency call" from the cockpit door panel is inhibited. E.
