FPT CORPERATION AND ITS JOB REQUIREMENTS

INTRODUCTION
Vietnam is now one of the biggest countries in Southeast Asia. Consequently,
with the growth of the economy, advances in technology, and cheap labor factor,
many big organizations like Apple, Samsung, and Nike have now chosen Vietnam to
be the place to put their factories. Now, the young generation in Vietnam has many
great companies that they want to work for, and as a part of the young Vietnamese
generation, I have the company I want to work for. My target company to apply to
after graduation is FPT corporation.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
General Information of FPT
According to FPT Telecom (2022), FPT corporation was founded in 1988 by
13 young scientists. These 13 scientists had a desire to build
"a company guided by technological innovations, committed to the
highest level of customer satisfaction, contributing to the nation's
prosperity and providing its employees with the most favorable work
environment possible, enabling them to reach their full potential in terms
of their careers and personal lives." (FPT Telecom, 2022)
Thirty-four years later, FPT has become the largest ICT company in Vietnam,
with 37,180 employees covering 63 provinces and cities (FPT Telecom, 2022). The
organization focuses on providing optical networking, streaming services, and
security cameras to the entire of Vietnam. Not only appearing in Vietnam, but FPT
Corporation has also now made many contributions and appeared in the world. In
2014, FPT had clients and companies in 18 countries, including Vietnam, Laos,
Cambodia, America, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Myanmar, France, Malaysia,
Australia, Thailand, United Kingdom, Philippines, Kuwait, Bangladesh, the
Netherlands, and Indonesia (FPT, 2014).
FPT’s Partnership
The success of FPT has to mention the partnership between the corporation
with Microsoft. Both corporations have created Azure IOT, Microsoft Dynamics ERP
& CRM, Lotus Notes Migration, and Enterprise Collaboration Innovation (FPT
Software, 2022). Microsoft is still using these innovative products in their systems,
such as Office365 and Windows Upgrade (FPT Software, 2022). Moreover, FPT also
formed a partnership with Allianz - German financial cooperation to bring insurance
into the Vietnam market (Allianz Partners with FPT Group to Enter Vietnam's
General Insurance Market, 2019). Not only partnership with Microsoft, but FPT also
has the chance to have many big organizations worldwide be their customer, such
as Unilever, P&G, IBM, Amazon, Apple, etc. (FPT Telecom, 2022). This cooperation
is strong evidence to prove that FPT is one of the giant corporations in Vietnam right
now. Because of that, it is not an easy task for people to apply to FPT corporations
since the demand for applying and working in FPT corporations is exceptionally high.
Jobs in FPT
According to TopCV - a famous job platform in Vietnam, FPT is currently
hiring many positions for their schools, retail department, or development department
(TopCV, 2022). However, I am interested in working in FPT's Marketing Department
in a content marketing position. In the position Job Description, FPT wants those
who work in this position to plan content to advertise the company's brand, products,
and projects (TopCV, 2022). Moreover, employees in this position also need to set
up product shooting and image editing and create product videos to upload to
Youtube, Tiktok, and Facebook (TopCV, 2022). This job also requires its employees
to develop, manage, and understand the viral contents that are currently on trend
(TopCV, 2022).
However, due to TopCV (2022), in order to apply for the job, the candidate
needs to meet the following requirement:

Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar position

Know how to use photo and video editing software

Prefer to know how to make tik-tok videos.

Know about digital marketing

Have good writing skills

Have good design knowledge
How to Meet Job's Requirements
Comparing myself with the job requirement, I see that my ability is satisfactory
for most of the job requirements, such as a minimum of 1-year experience, the ability
to use photo and video editing software, and knowledge of digital marketing.
Nevertheless, the requirement that I lack is good writing skills and design knowledge.
Hence, to get accepted into the position, I should improve my writing skills and
design knowledge. Firstly, to improve my writing skills, I should read more case
studies that relate to content marketing and practice writing the content. However, if
self practice does not give a good outcome, then taking a writing class is a must to
improve my writing skill. The second skill that needs to improve is design knowledge.
Furthermore, to improve the mentioned skill, I need to take a class that relates to
design. I believe that guidance from those who have experience in the field is
necessary to improve my skills because the teacher can teach me basic design
knowledge. The knowledge can be understood as color combination, adjusting
customer opinion about the design, and how to attract more people with my design.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, it can be said that FPT is now the most famous corporation in
Vietnam. Moreover, with its achievement, the corporation is now becoming the
corporation that most people want to work in. Even though there are many positions
available in the corporation, I only want to apply for the content marketing position.
Nevertheless, I can only achieve my goals after I refine my writing skills and design
knowledge.
