WORD OF THANKS
By: Zanaya Trisha T. Sotia
To our School’s Division Superintendent, Dr. Estela B. Susvilla, CESO VI, her
representatives, _____________________________ and ________________________, to our highly
respected school principal, Mr. Jun Rey E. Repe, to our efficient and active teachers of
Calicanan Elementary School, our guest speaker __________________________, our proud
parents, guests, fellow graduates, friends, good morning.
We are here today to celebrate a glorious chapter of our lives – graduating in the post—
pandemic era. It was not too long ago, when we were hugely affected by COVID-19. It halted
our access to face-to-face education, and it almost shattered our dreams. Yet, we remained
resilient and hopeful. We never stopped dreaming. We continued to strive hard to do better,
and with that, we managed to stand firm, fronting hundreds of people today as our efforts
and sacrifices are well paid off.
“Gradweyt ng K to 12, Hinubog ng Matatag na Edukasyon”. That is our trademark.
Our brand. We are products of the post-pandemic initiatives of the Department of Education.
As we are dubbed as learners who are MATATAG, we are committed and ready to face life’s
new challenges. We know that the road will be bumpy, but let us continue to be strong,
hopeful, and resilient and prove to everyone that we have the capabilities that can summon
the demands of a highly competitive society. Life is tough out there. So let us all be adaptive
to every change. To quote Vice President Sara Duterte, “We will overcome, Tayo ay magiging
MATATAG”.
Dear graduates, let us not be afraid to step out of our shell. Along the way, we may
meet a lot of trials, but our burning desire to reach our goals will keep us from straying or
giving up. If we cannot change the direction of the wind, then maybe we can adjust our sail
to always reach our destination.
Along the way are many uncertainties, but certain beacons of light will show us the
right path to take. And as we take this another journey in our lives, let us not forget to
consider our strengths.
Fellow graduates, please stand..
Let us thank our parents and loved ones for their unconditional support all throughout
these years;
“Thank you Ma, thank you Pa!”
..our teachers, for their immeasurable dedication;
“Thank you Ma’am and Sir!”
..our friends, who walk along with us through thick and thin;
..and most especially our Heavenly Father for His unceasing grace and guidance.
Because of them, we were able to reach this endeavor. They are our backbones, our
stakeholders, our solid foundation. Without them, we are not here. And because of them, we
can truly say “we made it!”
Let us give a big, big hand to our support system who sheds light to even the darkest
of days!
Let me end my speech with a quote from my favorite singer Taylor Swift and I quote,
“No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy
to leave behind”.
Class of 2023, congratulations and see you soon! Salamat ug Maayong adlaw kanatong
tanan!
