Aditya Sehgal Year 7 2022 Mid Course Report This report is providing parents with information regarding student performance in Semester One. The Achievement Grades are awarded based on a student’s result in assessment tasks within each course. The table below provides guidance for understanding how each grade relates to the student’s level of performance in each course. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations. B The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations. C The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills. D The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills. E The student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills. Each subject report indicates the mark the student achieved for each assessment task alongside the average result achieved by the students within the course. The ticks in the Areas of Assessment section give an indication of a student’s strengths and weaknesses as demonstrated in formal assessment tasks. Learning Behaviours describe the characteristics of our students, promoted and expected by the College for successful progress and improvement in their learning. They are based on the tenets of 'Positive Learning' which inform the shared language our students and staff have in regards to learning at Thomas Hassall Anglican College. The graduate aim of Resilience has been evident in how the cohort have approached such a challenging leap from Junior School. Year 7 students have responded positively to the Year 11 Peer Support leaders and the Term Two focus on 'Making Good Friendships'. As a College, we teach students about resilience in the hope that they will develop an ability to approach a variety of situations with courage and optimism. To observe so many students already demonstrating this is very pleasing. In Assemblies and Chapel, students continued to examine how wisdom from the Bible relates to everyday life. Pastoral Care Teacher's Comment Aditya is a polite and engaging student who is respected by his peers and teachers. He is a highly motivated, determined student who has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in any task which he sets his mind to. Aditya has performed consistently across all of his subjects and is commended for his performance in Christian Studies and History. However, there are some areas requiring additional revision and practice such as Technology Mandatory: Food and Digital Technology and PDHPE. He should seek detailed feedback and assistance in these courses and set some revised learning goals. Aditya is commended for his consistent engagement and involvement in Pastoral Care activities and he is encouraged to involve himself in co-curricular activities when the opportunities arise next semester. The 3D prototype that was featured a microcontroller that operated a LED, requiring students to carefully plan for and create an electronic circuit. Students also gained experience in writing and following a general-purpose programming language to complete a series of simulated Arduino coding tutorials. Students used the elements of art to explore different ways of making and understanding art.
