Dear Students,
It’s time for a fun filled and relaxing summer break. However, during the
long scorching summer months, whether you are travelling or at home,
time must be spent meaningfully and interestingly so that you keep in touchwith
school work and have lots of fun.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS
• Holiday homework has to be done under the parental guidance.
• Only 3 activities (3 subjects) per class are to be attempted by the
learners depending on their choice or interest.
• It should be very neat and clean.
•It is mandatory for each and every student to complete their holidayhomework
and submit it on the date assigned by their teachers.

Students can research the distances between Celestial bodies in our Solar System
and use exponents to represent the astronomiCal units used to measure those
distances. They will calculate the distance between five given Celestial bodies in
astronomical units and arrange them in the ascending and descending order.

division of rational numbers with clear instructions.

l. Make a table and write the pulse rate, blood group and blood pressure of each
of your family members. Take first reading when they are resting then take
another reading after they have finished some physical work or exercise.
Compare the pulse rate and blood pressure at rest and after exercise. State the
reason for the difference in the readings.
2. To perform an activity i.e. Stacking Density Column.
Take a transparent plastic cup or glass. Put a tablespoonful of honey, then two
tablespoonful of vegetable oil and then two tablespoonful of coloured water. Put
it aside for 10 minutes. Observe the sequence of layers in the cup. Can you
explain your observation? Test if different small objects like small piece of wax,
a screw,a coin,an eraser or a plastic ball sink or float in the different layers of
your density column. In which liquid layer do they settle?
Can you explain your observations for it?
Why do liquids stack on top of each other in layers?

Find out what steps they have taken for the welfare of your Constituency. Make a

You plan a trip to visit all the states and union territories which have
international borders in northern India.
Make a table to write the names of the states/union territories which you can visit
one after the other in a sequence. Also write their capitals and the countries they
touch.
