What is a machine?
A machine is a thing that is created by people to make work easier. It is a
tool or invention which multiplies the effect of human effort.
Household Appliances:
Household appliances are those machines which helps us to do our work
quickly and easily. It reduces human efforts. Here are two examples of
household appliances.
 Washing machine is a machine that helps us to wash and dry unclean
clothes. Hence it reduces human efforts.
 Refrigerator is a machine that helps us to keep our food fresh and away
from germs by cooling the food. Hence it reduces spoilage.
Transportation machines:
Vehicles we use to travel in and around our surroundings are also different
type of machines running on wheels. Vehicles like cars, buses, trains,
planes and ships are examples of transportation machines.

Computer- A Machine
A Computer is a machine that accepts data as input, processes that data using
programs, and outputs the processed data as information.
Here are a few types of computers:
Desktop: It is placed on desks or a table. It is generally
used in schools, offices and homes.

Laptop: A laptop can be carried around anywhere.
It is placed on the lap. It is smaller than the desktop.

Tablet: A tablet is also a computer but smaller than the
laptop, the tablet has a touchscreen and can be carried in
