This
chapter
describes
the
logging
of
all
the
following
activities:

Handling
device
failures.
When
a
device
fails
or
runs
out
of
media,
the
following
events
occur:

The
device
fault
is
displayed
on
the
operator
interface,
if
present,
while
in
Out
of
Service,
In
Service,
Offline
and
Suspend
modes

A
status
message
for
the
appropriate
device
is
sent
to
Central

The
status
message
is
logged
in
the
journal

An
entry
is
added
to
the
System
Application’s
Device
Status
List.
The
terminal
responds
to
all
subsequent
Terminal
Commands
and
Transaction
Reply
Commands
from
Central
by
reporting
the
error
condition
until
the
condition
has
been
cleared.

determining
whether
retracted
notes
were
retracted
during
a
dispense
or
deposit
transaction

recyclers

general
journaling

cash
acceptors.
