Human immunodeficiency
virus, also known as HIV, is
a retrovirus that causes
human immune system to
fail. The virus attacks and
gradually destroys the
human immune system,
leaving the host unprotected
when infected. People who are infected with HIV and die often die
from secondary infections or cancer. AIDS is the final stage of
human immunodeficiency virus infection
Cells that it attacked
HIV virus has been proved to be a T4 lymphocytic and neurocytic
virus. HIV virus enters human body blood by skin break, the target
cell that main attack and destroy is T4 lymphocyte, and to get T4
cell to lose original normal immune function.
The structure
The human immunodeficiency virus is about 80-140 nanometers
in diameter and is round or oval in shape. And it gots a p24 protein
made capsid.
