srinivasa iyengar Ramanujam was born
on 22 december 1887 to a middle class
orthadox family in kumbakonam.
 He did not pursue any type of formal
education in the field of mathematics.
 but he had a special interest in maths.
 due to that he went to cambridge
university to to study maths.

his academic
advisors were
G.H.Hardy and
J.E.Littlewood.
• he was member
of royal society
and trinity college
in cambridge.
•He was born to
K.Srinivasa iyengar
and Komalatmal.
•He published his
work in indian
mathematician
society.

he was later married
to 9 year old girl
namely janaki ammal
on 14 july 1909.
• after his marriage he
was jobless then he
went door to door for
job .
• later for money he
tutored college
students .

proposed was

1912 he got a job as
a peon in madras

office with a salary of
rupee 20 per month.

admited in a hospital
later ramanujam
came to visit he
came in a cab which
was numbered 1729.
• when ramanujam
mentioned it hardy
commented it was
uninteresting .

ramanujam stated
that 1729 was the
smallest natural
number which is the
sum of two cubes in
two different ways .

affected by
tuberculosis he
returned to india .

hepatic
amoebasis .
