Screening and Assessment of Pupil’s Reading Ability (SAPRA) -To conduct reading assessment of pupils and select those who are struggling in reading. - B. Orientation -To let pupils engage themselves on their reading remediation time religiously and that parents also involve themselves and be aware of their role to enhance the reading ability of the children. - Pupil’s will be assessed individually with their reading ability and accuracy through PHILIRI. Parents and learners will be orientated through online conferences and be given child’s schedule of reading remediation with reading kit as well. Implementation of the remedial reading (IRR) - To measure learner’s reading proficiency by: - A. Conducting a pre-reading test B. To enhance reading competency through decoding and word recognition, fluency and comprehensi on. Hence, inculcate to learners the value in reading with understandin g and have them realized its positive effect on their lives - Pre-reading assessment test must be done to identify student’s reading level proficiency. - Class Adviser -Learners OCTOBER 2022 In assessing learner’s performance in decoding and word recognition, the child is asked to read a passage and each word read incorrectly is noted and marked. However, in - Class Adviser -Learners OCTOBER 2022-JUNE 2023 terms of fluency, the time taken by the child to read a passage is recorded and the number of words that he/she can read per minute is being computed. Whereas in comprehension skill, the learner will be asked to answer several questions based from the reading materials he/she had read. - Pre-reading assessment test must be successfully done. Learners fall under frustration and nonreader level are those who will have taken the remedial reading - At least 85% reading proficiency must have been obtained after the reading remediation teaching. Monitoring parents’ shared responsibility on reading competitiveness of a child at least once a month (PASHARES on CoaCaloaM) To increase parental and guardian support and cooperation with the reading program E. Final Reading Evaluation (FRE) - F. Reading Performance Appraisal/ Reading Remediation Recognition and Closing Program A. To appraise the learner’s reading keenness and high proficiency To evaluate the reading and comprehensio n skills of the learner after undertook the remediation reading program through conducting post-reading activity - - - Parents will be acknowledged of being teacher’s partners in enhancing the reading skills of the learner and that, they must be taught to assess their child’s reading ability as well. - Class Adviser -Parents -Learners After going through the reading process, the learner will be reassessed. The teacher must again identify the reading proficiency of the learner.
