CAB™ Cable Rings
Provide maximum strength and safety for
the support of aerial cables in power utility,
telecommunication and industrial applications. Manufactured from galvanized
steel, copper clad steel, bronze or Type
316 stainless steel to withstand corrosive
environments. For more protection, any
style of ring can be insulated with a coating of high
dielectric grade PVC Plastisol.
• Standard: Designed for suspending single cables.
• Long: Extra length allows a second cable to be
suspended under the standard style ring from the
same messenger strand.
• Medium: For single or multiple cables - available by
special order.
CAB Saddles
Economical cable blocks for support of one or two cables
or innerduct up to 1-1/4" outside diameter. Use on
strand up to 5/16" diameter. Integrated cable retaining
system with spring-loaded arm. Frames are durable
cast aluminum with steel inserts on strand contact
surfaces. Rollers are plastic or steel. Replacement
rollers available.

Improves safety by providing a wider load bearing
area in the carrier section of the cable ring. This extra
support and protection is especially important when
running heavy cables or multiple cables. Saddles are
strong, lightweight and have an integral locking system
to the cable ring. Completely assembled ring and saddle
units are available for added convenience and faster
installation time. Can be PVC coated.
PVC Coated Cab Cable Rings
Ring is completely coated with PVC Plastisol making
it totally insulated and spark-proof. Slippage and
movement of cable rings after installation is virtually
eliminated due to molding action of the PVC coating
to the messenger strands. Provides extra protection in
highly corrosive environments.
Standard Galvanized Cable Rings
Used for short cable runs, like mid-span traffic signal
installation. The inside diameter of the ring/loop
permits additional cables to be pulled thru on future
installation modifications. No tools needed. When
ordering, specify messenger strand size being used.

extra high strength galvanized 7-strand steel with
stainless steel lashing wire to the cable you specify.
Your pre-lashed cable will ship within 2 to 3 days.
If you require multiple wires or cables in a run,
we also offer custom jacketing. Once the cables are
jacketed together, we can then lash to a messenger.

Klik-It® Buried Service Wire Closure
The Klik-It closure design allows
the craft person to visually
confirm the splice arrangement
before burial.

The 3832 is a small kit for inline
and butt splicing up to five pair
buried service wires. Semihardening 4403-B epoxy filling
compound remains semi-flexible

A dielectric dead-end designed to terminate short span, low tension ADSS fiber optic cables in low-voltage environments. Unlike
the Limited, Medium and High Tension FIBERLIGN Dielectric
Dead-End designs found later in this section, the Lite Tension
Dead-End is reduced to a single layer component that offers an
economical solution for very light loads. The product effectively
transfers the low axial load on the cable at the end of the dead-end legs to allow uniform radial compression near
the dead-end loop.

The FIBERLIGN CLAS storage is designed to store
fiber optic cable in span while maintaining minimum
bend radius requirements for cables up to 1" diameter.
Kits are packaged for cable only or cable with butt
splice closure storage in span. A cable storage system
includes two CLAS storage brackets with bracket
straps and cable guide or protection (for cable passing
the pole). Appropriate splice case brackets are added for
cable and butt splice closure storage. Optional heavyduty cable straps may be added to any kit selection.

towers. Four basic kits can
be combined into various

neatly group cable and secure cable to spools if desired.
The fundamental component of each kit is a durable
urethane storage spool that provides a smooth, curved
surface for proper support of the stored cable. Thru

ADSS Drop Cable Hardware
FIBERLIGN® for ADSS Drop Cable Hardware from Preformed Line Products
All ADSS cables designed for the last mile are relatively small and have very low load requirements for pole-topole distribution and pole-to-pole service drops. Distribution span lengths are typically less than 30' and service
drops are typically less than 150'. ADSS type drop cables are supported with non-metallic strength members and
protected by an outer plastic sheath.
FIBERLIGN® ADSS Drop Cable Dead-end
Secures the soft, pliable surface of a drop cable without causing attenuation. Unlike wedge type dead-ends, the
formed wire dead-end effectively transfer the axial load on the cable at the end of the dead-end legs to a low
uniform radial compression near the dead-end loop.
Due to the variety of cable designs from various manufacturers, the holding capabilities of drop cable dead-ends
will vary as well. The following characteristics are presented for a general overview of the typical requirements
for a drop cable application:
• Distribution Max Span Length: Approx. 300'
• Service Drop Max Span Length: Approx. 200'
• Installation Load: Approx. 70–100 lbs.
• Loaded Tension: Approx. 200–500 lbs.
Contact the cable manufacturer for specific cable capabilities to determine proper sag and tension levels for your
system.
The loop of the dead-end will fill over a minimum diameter of 1" and a maximum diameter of 1-5/8". It is designed
to fit over common guy wire dead-end pole fittings. Thimbles can be used for fittings that may cause high stress in
the loop of the dead-end. PLP peers a 1/2" standard thimble (Item No. 00065474). Optimal fittings provide proper
loop support without a thimble.
FIBERLIGN® ADSS Midspan Drop
If direct attachment from the pole to the premise is obstructed or
restricted for clearance reasons, it may be beneficial to re-direct
cable drops from mid-span. The FIBERLIGN ADSS midspan drop
(FAMD) can be applied anywhere along the backbone cable, which
must be strong enough to endure the system side-load requirements.
The FAMD can be loaded to 500 lbs. maximum perpendicular load.

FIBERLIGN® ADSS Drop Cable Lite Support
As referenced previously, the FIBERLIGN lite support (FLS) sizes were
expanded to accommodate drop cables. For service drops, the FLS can
provide a solution for intermediate pole locations. It is an ideal product for
distribution of multiple drop cables in an FTTp system as each FLS can
support two cables and has stackable housings. One 5/8" double arming
bolt or thru bolt can secure stacked FLS unites within the same pole space.
This keeps cables neatly secured to the pole.
FIBERLIGN® ADSS Drop Cable Tangent Support
The FIBERLIGN tangent support (FTS) offers another method of supporting ADSS drop cables with excellent unbalance load capability and bend
relief support. This product is designed to connect directly to J-hooks for an
economical alternative. One FTS can reduce pole clutter by replacing two
dead-end and J-hook connections.

Figure-8 cables designed for the last mile are relatively small and have very low load requirements for pole-to-pole
distribution and pole-to-premise service drops. Distribution span lengths are typically less than 300' and service
drops are typically less than 150'. Figure-8 type drop cables are typically supported with metallic strength members and protected by an outer plastic sheath. A web joins the messenger component to the fiber optic component.
Figure-8 Drop Cable Dead-end
The FIBERLIGN Fiture-8 drop cable dead-end has high strength in a
lightweight package. Simple to install, the dead-end is applied on the messenger component of the Figure-8 cable after separating the fiber component at the web. The loop of the dead-end will fit over a minimum diameter
of 1" and a maximum diameter of 1-5/8". The dead-end is designed to fit
over common guy wire dead-end pole fittings. Thimbles can be used for
