Assignment
[Note: For assignment students are required to form groups of 5-7 students and submit a comprehensive answer of any two of the
followings:
1. A Journalist of Japan, Ms. Katasu, who has the hobby of collecting antics, while visiting Sonargaon
in Bangladesh, found a rear type of ‘clay made Teracota Painting’ in one of the place she visited,
and entered into a contract with the owner (Mr. Dey) to buy the same for Tk. 25,000/- and also
paid some advance too. Afterwards, when he went to collect the same by paying rest of the
price, the owner (Mr. Dey) informed her (Ms. Katasu) that few days back the ‘Teracota painting’
has been destroyed due to fire.
However, considering the occurred situation Mr. Dey offered Ms. Katasu return of the advance
money along with interest in terms of standard bank rate as damages. But, Ms. Katasu refused
to accept that and asked double the amount as damages. -Discuss.
