City
By drawing on the provided study material for Unit 5: The Just City and Advocacy Planning, write a
factual essay of at least 2500 words on the following topic:
Are the inhabitants of the City of Windhoek (or your home town) living in a fair, just, and equitable
urban environment and what / how could town and regional planners in Namibia address any unfair,
unjust, and non-equitable urban development scenarios or improve upon the just, fair, and equitable
developments scenarios in Windhoek.
Evaluation criteria:
The factual essay submitted as your assignment will be evaluated in terms of the following:

Date and method of submission:
All assignments must be submitted in electronically via TURN – IT – IN on or before 11h59 on 24th
April 2023. You will need the following key and ID to submit your assignment:

Any late submissions will carry a penalty of 10% per day. After 5 days a ZERO mark will be allocated
to the assignment. The penalties will accrue from 12h01 on the 24th April 2023.
The assignment has a minimum number of 2500 words, but not a maximum number of word or pages.
Please feel free to use any additional material in support of your written document such as pictures,
videos, posters, maps, and interviews with possible stakeholders. Please use all the theory articles
and the “Advocacy in Action: Guide to influencing decision making in Namibia” by the Legal
Assistance Centre as your initial sources of information for this assignment.
