Teacher’s Activity
Student’s Activity
A. PRELIMINARIES
-
Greetings
Good afternoon, Ma’am/ Sir!
Good afternoon, everyone!
It is another good day to learn. So, before
we start our discussion for a new lesson,
remain standing for our opening prayer.
Angel of God
My guardian dear
To whom God’s love
Commits me here.
Ever this day
Be at my side,
To light and guard.
To rule and guide,
Amen.
-
Organizing the classroom setting
Before we seat, kindly pick up any
pieces of paper or trash under your
chair. Align your chair properly
and you may sit down.
-
Checking of Attendance
Look at your seatmates, is there
any absentees?
None.
B. REVIEW
“Before going to the new lesson, let us
have a review about what we discussed
last meeting.
“Anyone, who remember the topic we
have discussed?”
“Who can define the meaning of
“Sir, it’s all about energy.”
energy?”
“Sir, energy is the ability to do work”
C. ENGAGEMENT
“Let’s play a game. I have prepare
a game for today’s lesson. This
game called “Jumbled Letters”,
all you need to do is to guess the
words and arrange the jumbled
letters to its corresponding word.
So, let’s start.
(The teacher paste the jumbled
letters on the board and the
students will guess it.)
ULBB
ABTRTYE
TIWCHS
(Students guessing what the word is.)
UNCODINGT IREW
BULB
BATTERY
Very Good Everyone, you guess SWITCH
CONDUCTING WIRE
the words right.
D. EXPLORATION
The class will watch a video that
tackles about “How the bulb light
up
and
how
people
used
electricity and how it works”
After watching the class will
divided into two groups and will
answer the following question:
(Bulb light up)
1. What are the materials that
needed to make a bulb light
up?
2. What if there is no battery do
you think bulb will light up?
3. What is the used of battery,
wire and switch?
4. How often do you used the
light bulb or any electrical
appliances in your home? Do
you used it wisely?
5. Draw illustration on how the
bulb light up?
(Electricity)
1. Does the people used the
electricity wisely? Why?
2. How would you used the
electricity?
3. How
electrical
appliances
works?
E. EXPLANATION
“Class, are you done?”
Okay group 1 present you work in the
front.
Alright, let’s give group 1 a round of
applause.
Yes, teacher.
(Group 1 will present their work in
the front)
Let’s proceed to the next group.
Group 2 please in the front and present
your work.
Let’s give group 2 a round of applause.
F. ELABORATION
Circuit is the complete loop through
which an electrical current flows. The
word “circuit” comes from the Latin
word
circuitous
which
means
“go
around”. It is made up of a series of
electrical components and conductors. A
circuit always needs a power source, such
as a battery, with wires connected to both
the positive (+) and negative (-) ends. A
battery is also known as a cell. A circuit
can
also
contain
other
electrical
components, such as bulbs, buzzers or
motors, which allow electricity to pass
through.
The parts of Electric Circuit
1.)
Bulb –it is an object that uses
electrical power or electrical energy.
(Group 2 will present their work)
2.) Battery- it is the source of energy or
electricity.
3.) Conducting wire- it is a cable or link
that connects the source of energy to the
bulb. A safety device that is put in a
circuit to connect the parts of the circuit
4.) Switch-it is controlling device which
is used to open or close a circuit.
When there is a break or gap in an electric
circuit which disallow the flow of current
through the circuit is known as open
circuit.
In an open circuit, no current can flow
from the source to the load due to
incomplete path between the energy
source and the load. Therefore, the open
circuit represents the circuit in OFF state.
The open circuit may be due to switch in
OFF state or failure of any component in
the circuit.
An electric circuit is said to be closed if
there is continuous path from the energy
source to the load. Thus, an electric
circuit which has a closed loop path to
flow of current from source to load is
called a closed circuit.
The closed circuit represents the ON state
of the circuit. The main parts of a closed
circuit are: a conducting wire, source of
energy (ex. battery) and an electric load.
These components joined together to
form a closed loop so that current can
flow from source to load through wire.
APPLICATION
The class will divided into two groups,
both group will do a simple circuit. The
teacher will give the materials for them to
do a circuit. After doing the activity the
each group will present their work in the
front.
What is the materials need in lighting the
bulb?
Explain each their function.
(Each group will present their work)
GENERALIZATION
What
you’ve
learned
for
today’s
discussion?
What is needed to make a simple circuit?
(We learned how to light up the bulb)
(We a bulb, wire, battery and
switches)
How do you define them?
Bulb –it is an object that uses
electrical power or electrical energy.
Battery- it is the source of energy or
electricity.
Conducting wire- it is a cable or link
that connects the source of energy to
the bulb. A safety device that is put
in a circuit to connect the parts of the
circuit.
Switch-it is controlling device which
is used to open or close a circuit.
