Johan is in grade 6. Both his parents are working. When he comes home from school Johan
has to clean the house, give the dog food and clean the back yard. Besides this he has to do
his school work as well.
Johan wants to work hard to improve his marks for the second term; however, he does not
want to disappoint his parents either. They work long hours to provide for the family and he
wants to be helpful. His teacher noticed his drop in marks for the second term and asked him
why he was not improving his work? Johan explained he has to do household chores when
he comes from school and often ends up being too tired to complete his school work or to
do extra studying or reading.
He does not want to neglect his schoolwork.
