6.40 *Baseline Gear Set for DNC:
*Baseline here means these items are not locked behind any weekly restricted content, such as
weekly capped tomestone currency (Comedy) and weekly locked savage raids. The baseline
items can include a combination of Extreme Trial Gear (the ilvl 645 weapon), penta-melded
crafted gear pieces (ilvl 640), and Normal mode Anabaseios gear pieces (ilvl 640). With regards
to melds, this set does not take into consideration stat tiers beyond melding skill speed for a
specific GCD tier.
General Materia Meld Order: Crit > DET > DH (if the meld would overcap it, do the next materia type)
● Note: When upgrading pieces from this set, some gear pieces may be melded with some skill
speed in order to reach a desired GCD (a common desired tier is 532 skill speed needed or
+132 from base for 2.47 GCD). Feel free to use the DNC Gear Calculator if you want to try
and find a gearset of a different GCD.
Baseline Set: Etro Link
For patch 6.40, baseline is everything crafted pentamelded EXCEPT the ilvl 645 Extreme Trial
Weapon from the 6.40 trial and the ilvl 640 Anabaseios Sabatons of Aiming (boots from Normal
Raid). See below about which floors you can obtain the boots token from (note: you need x2
tokens to turn in for the boots and can only get 1 token per floor per week).

Ranked in order of highest DPS to lowest:
1. War Quoits of Ascension (from P12S) - ilvl 665
2. Augmented Twin Moons (requires Divine Solvent from P11S + unaugmented ilvl 650
weapon) - ilvl 660
3. Twin Moons (requires 500 Tomestones of Comedy + Hermetic Tomestone from P10S or
7 Unsung Blades of Anabaseios from P12N at 1 per week) - ilvl 650
4. Voidcast Chakrams (from the Extreme trial of patch 6.4) - ilvl 645
5. Diadochos Chakrams (crafted / pentameldable) - ilvl 640
6.40 Tomestone of Comedy Spending Order
*This tomestone buy order was determined by looking at simulated gains in dps by replacing an
item with the tomestone piece when starting with the baseline gearset and calculated how much
dps was gained per number of tomestones needed to purchase the item in order to make the
following buy order:
Boots > Bracelet > Chest > Ring > Earring
If you want to buy tomestone items that are not best in slot because you have extra tomestones
of comedy, consider buying the weapon. Out of all of the tomestone items you can buy, the
weapon is actually the biggest upgrade on a per tomestones basis even if it’s not BiS. If you are
trying to push for a P12S clear, consider getting this weapon to help increase your damage for
prog.
The other tomestone items are not BiS, however, some of them can be a dps upgrade if you get
the twine/coating to upgrade them. Specifically the Legs, Gloves, and Necklace are dps
upgrades over 640 pentamelded crafted ONLY when you upgrade them to 660. This should be
lowest priority and only done if you have extra tomestones of Comedy and extra twines/coatings
to spend.
It is NEVER worthwhile to buy the tomestone helm as this helm is worse than the pentamelded
crafted piece (even if the tomestone piece were upgraded to 660).
