CLINICAL CASE
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a severe viral respiratory illness caused by SARS associated
coronavirus (SARS-CoV).
For cases of SARS to reappear, the virus has to re-emerge (from a possible animal source, a laboratory accident or
undetected transmission in humans).
INCUBATION- 5 DAYS (RANGES 2 TO 10 DAYS)
After onset of symptoms and maximum period of communicability is less than 21 days.



Headache and overall feeling of discomfort and bodyaches
Mild respiratory symptoms at the onset; after two days, dry cough and repiratory difficulty
Sudden onset of high-grade fever, usually greater than 38°C
