“managed accounts”, non-custodial basis
What does “managed accounts” mean?
• Investors can select their own broker / custodian that they trust and open their own investment
accounts, and specify one of the sub-accounts to be a “managed account”.
• A managed account is a type of investment account where a professional portfolio manager
oversees and makes decisions on the investments in an investor’s account. The portfolio manager may
have discretion to make trades in the account on behalf of the account holder. The portfolio manager
might send automated trading signals directly to an investor’s account to trade a particular hedge
fund’s strategy.
• The managed account typically provides investors with extensive risk management tools that allow the
investor to restrict the (1) maximum drawdown, (2) leverage and the (3) amount of capital the
portfolio manager may invest on behalf of the investor.
What does ”non-custodial” mean?
• At no point would Hedge Fund Creator have the ability to transfer/move the investor’s money out of
their accounts, i.e. we never take “custody” of an investor’s capital. The assets remain under the
control of the investor at all times.
• Investors would have full control over their investments and accounts at all times, and can switch
on/off a hedge fund strategy within seconds.
