*STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF A POETRY

GRAPHOLOGICAL FEATURES
The poem is divided into five stanzas. Each of the first four stanza contains
four line. The fifth stanza, however, contains three lines. For a total the poem
Pagbukad has 19 lines. There has a predominant use of hypen which can we see on
line 2, 5, 6 and 9.
PHONOLOGICAL FEATURES
The end rhyme on the first three stanza follow the rhyming scheme of a-b-c-d,
on the last two stanza the rhyming schem is a-a-a-a and a-b-b. The tone of the
author is very ironic. He is comparing what he notice on a particular person to a
situation that is not degrading. To be precise he use euphemism so that the poem
turns out not to be harsh or blunt when reffering to something.
SYNTACTIC FEATURES
The poem has been written in Bicol Language, some lines consist of one
word:
Nagbuburobayle (line 1)
Nagiiwad-iwad (line 2)
Nagngingisi-ngisi (line 5)
Naghuyom-huyom (line 6)
Nagpipitik-pitik (line 7)
Nagkukurokintid (line 8)
The poem also used imperative words and prase :
Sabata: (line 13)
Hilinga baya (line 17)
The author is describing a perticular person and comparing it to a less harsh
way.
LEXICO-SEMANTIC FEATURES
Since the poem has been written in Bicol Language the words used are more
direct but the author inflict it to some circumstances that is more pleasant to hear or
imagine.
CONCLUSION
On the whole Adrian V. Remondo poem, Pagbukad it has a lot of poetic
words that is intended to revealing, comparing and explaing to us what his
perspective. The analysis provided here is more direct but it gives us point that we
can create a beautiful piece no matter what language we are using.

HOME IMPROVEMENT
ANALYSIS
The passage present two character which are Susan and Greg, it is all about
their home improvement. While they are in their bedroom they argue about the color
of their bathroom, Susan want it to be bright yellow bathroom while Greg want it to be
dark, classy bathroom. They argued and talk about a lot especially on the other
things that they change in their house. Suddenly they realize that they are arguing
towards a very small things. Then Susan turn to Greg and ask him that maybe they
don’t want it to totally change the house. Atlast they realize that the root of their
misunderstanding is their past. They once lost someone that is special to them and
Greg blame himself for what happen. In the end, they realized that they once lost
both of themselves although its hard for them but what important is they are alive and
the present. Susan is pregnant and what important is they are having a new member
of their family. They once lost solmeone important but God give them another one
that can make their family whole.
LEXICO-SEMANTIC FEATURE
The character in the passage are arguing, it also has some flashbacking, it is
when Greg remember some traggic event and they lost someone. The passage also
made us realize that life may seem unfair it gives us challenges that is unbearable
but if we look it in a brighter side it made us stronger.
CONCLUSION
In the drama passage Home Improvement there are a lot of argumentative
statement, intended to visualize the thought they are poertaining to convey.
