Explanation
of the Event
Graduation is a ceremony marking the
successful completion of an academic
degree program. It usually includes a
graduating class of graduates and
academic staff, the presentation of
degrees, speeches and the wearing of
traditional academic regalia.
Types of
Food
The food and beverages served at
graduation ceremonies depend on the
institution and the specific event. Some
institutions may offer refreshments or a
formal meal for graduates and their guests,
while others may offer no food at all.
The
Clothing
At graduation ceremonies, graduates
usually wear the traditional academic
gown with cap and gown. The design may
vary depending on the institution and the
degree being conferred. Guests are also
expected to dress formally for the event.
People
Invited
UK graduates may invite family and
friends. Academic staff may also attend
the graduation ceremony. Depending on
the institution, the number of guests may
be limited.
The
Preparation
In the United Kingdom, graduates often
prepare for their graduation by ordering
attire in advance, arranging travel and
accommodation if required, and inviting
people close to them to attend the event.
They may also participate in other events
organized by their institution.
Is it interesting?
With everything I was able to research about the British culture, the universities and high
schools in the UK, everything that is to be able to enter a university there, the atmosphere
and everything that comes with it, I realized that they take graduation as a really important
act, although it probably has a lot to do with the fact that most of the information I could
find was about university graduations, so obviously graduation is seen as a celebration of
the great achievement of being able to successfully complete university. So I really found it
quite interesting, not only the ceremony itself, but everything that surrounds it and being
able to compare it with other cultures and countries.
