REPRODUCTION IN
PLANTS
CHARACTERISTICS OF LIVING ORGANISMS
WHAT IS REPRODUCTION?
 It is a biological process in which an
organism gives rise to young ones
(offspring) similar to itself.
 Reproduction enables the continuity of the
species, generation after generation.

HYDRA
• Hydra is a multicellular animal. It occurs in
freshwater, either in flowing or standing
waters.
• They tolerate a wide range of conditions from
depths up to 350 metres in lakes, or in
shallow, fast-flowing streams.
• They attach themselves to solid surfaces
such as stones, twigs, or vegetation.
