PROJECT MITOSIS (MODIFIED INSTRUCTION THROUGH ORGANIZED SMS IN SCIENCE 8) FOR TWENTY CHRISTIAN D. FELISMINA A. Purpose: The research aims to provide brief and modified instruction to fill the learning gaps created by the 40-minute session. Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions: 1. What are the gadgets that the students are using in their 20-minute distance learning? 2. How do they perceive the lectures and activities given in a 40-minute class session? 3. How does the teacher assess the performance of the students when Project MITOSIS is introduced? 4. Is there a significant difference in the performance of the students in a 40minute session over the students in a 1-hour session? 5. What technical assistance is needed to further strengthen the implementation of PROJECT MITOSIS in a 40-minute session? B. Design/ methodology/ approach: In gathering data, the researcher will use qualitative and quantitative research methods. The study is designed for the Grade 8 students whose schedules were affected by the 40-minute sessions. Each of them will receive text messages and will answer some survey questions about the efficiency of Project Mitosis. C. Findings: The data that will be gathered in quantitative research will be tallied and treated with appropriate statistical tools such as frequency, mean, weighted mean, and t-test. D. Research Limitations/ Implications: The study is limited to the five sections of Grade 8- St. Andrew E. Originality/ value: The research will fill the gaps created by the congestion of scheduled time of classes in shifting classes like PINHS. F. Keywords: PROJECT MITOSIS, Twenty, Mobile Phones, MDL
