EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Northwestern Ohio Rural Arts started in 2015, as a community painting class. By 2020 the class had grown to over 20 students weekly. We had to move the class to a larger venue, because the space was not big enough for our growth. After a move into Walbridge from the township, we applied for and received our 501c3 nonprofit corporation letter from the I.R.S. with the plan to expand, adding community programs. Now in 2022, we’ve expanded to two classes, a day class and an evening painting class. We are planning several programs, that will be of interest to local business, as well as the community at large. To do this we will need our own larger space. Planned Programs • • • • • • • • Kids Clubs (Rocket Building/ computer tech/robotics) Wood Shop (turning, carving, basic tool use, and training) Metal Shop (Welding/ sculpting/ blacksmithing) Ceramics Shop Glass Blowing Art Studios and Gallery Computer Tech. Shop And any other interest the local community has. This means funding... The purpose of this, however, is not for you to fund these programs, but to help us open a revenue maker, so we can fund and bring these programs to fruition, on our own and at our own pace. The revenue maker, we are planning, is a Homemade Ice Cream Shop. “Who Doesn't Like Ice Cream?!! Just having a shop like this in Walbridge, will bring people in from all over the region, bringing in new potential customers, to all the local business. It also provides an employment opportunity to members of the local community. The profit potential is enormous, and running it as a nonprofit entity, all the profits, go into the planned space and programs, and not to any corporate officers pocket. Giving us the opportunity to bring our plans together very quickly, benefiting local business and the community at large. The Walbridge community has nothing like this. After the past few years of compounding, depressing news every day, it seems. Whether politics, or the pandemic, the whole community could use a virtual community wide “Anti-Depressant” and what’s better than “Ice Cream!!” The “Scoop Shop” can become a community hub, sparking a resurgence in the business district. This type of Ice Cream Shop, has the tendency to draw people from all over the area, because of the quality product that’s produced. The influx of new potential customers coming into our town, would certainly impact the other businesses positively, benefiting the whole community with an increase in the number of potential marketable customers and in-turn increased revenue.
