Setting/Characters
This is where we get a sense of your hero’s character (are they Strong?
Compassionate? Tall? Quiet?) as well as where your hero is from (normal world?
Different planet? Mage world? Robotic?)
Problem
This is the point in the tale where your hero encounters a problem or is given a
mission to accomplish. This gets the excitement going and the story under way.
Be sure to include dialogue! Usually the hero is getting the mission or problem
from someone or something!
Journey
The hero’s journey usually includes at least two to three trials before they can
finally accomplish their mission. These trials can be puzzles to solve, beasts to
tame, villains to defeat, etc. The setting often changes with each trial and your
hero is beginning to show more of their style of heroics (do they outsmart?
Outstrengthen? Befriend?) Be sure to include dialogue, whether it be your hero
talking to others around them or simply to themselves!
Climax/Final Battle
This is when the hero, after a long difficult task, is able to accomplish their
mission. Again, be specific about how they accomplish the task, what traits did
they have to use? How did they win? What did they have to do to win? Again,
USE DIALOGUE!
Resolution/Wind Down
With their mission complete, your hero returns to the original setting a true hero!
Be sure to point out how the hero has changed or the world around them has
changed because of the mission they accomplished. Guess what? Dialogue!
