- When Blanco said “peeking over the Smokies, greeting the faces”, I’d change peeking to emerging because going through the poem, Blanco is using strong words to make his poem come together, I feel as though the word “emerging” helps that. Another I’d change is when he said, “All of us as vital as the one light we move through.” I’d change vital to indispensable because it flows with the words of that line. The line “or the impossible vocabulary of sorrow that won't explain”, I’d change sorrow to dejection to better fit the line to make more sense and flow easier. Blanco asserted, “Hear: squeaky playground swings, trains whistling,” I’d change whistling to blaring because that better explains the sound of a train. The line “One sky, toward which we sometimes lit our eyes”, I’d change lit to elevate to give it a more personal sense. - The online dictionary helps you define the words and sometimes presents you with synonyms and the thesaurus helps you find synonyms to the words as well.
