GUIDELINES FOR USING RESOURCE MANUAL REMEMBER – The most important resource for a lesson is YOU. • • • • This manual is a tool to support your teaching. Pace the lesson according to the ability of your students. You do not always need to start a new lesson every day. There is plenty of content in each lesson and it may take several sessions to complete it. Do not move on to a new lesson until you are confident that the students fully understand the material covered in the current lesson. REPTITON • • REGULARITY REINFORCEMENT All lessons are designed to be interactive and multi-sensory. Talk through and explain each activity, making sure that the students understand what they are being asked to do before they begin the task. This is especially important when using the Student Workbook. NEVER direct the students to a page in the workbook and ask them to start without guidance. IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, PLAN TO FAIL. Before each lesson • • Read through each lesson guide thoroughly. Prepare the necessary materials. After each lesson • • • Record a) What went well in the lesson. b) What was not so successful. Plan any changes that may be necessary for the next lesson. Record the progress of individual students. LEARNING IS FUN, ENJOY YOUR LESSONS WITH YOUR STUDENTS.
