Group Collectible 1 Names: Ada Pacheco, Samantha Wilbur, Keaghan Mezo, and Jessica Buchholtz (Group H) 1. State the manager’s problem. Provide information about the context and why this is an important problem. (1 pt) ● Manager Problem: ○ How do we get people to use Zen Shuttles? ● Context: ○ At the ASU Tempe campus there is a new independent shuttle service called Zen. This shuttle is a ride pooling service that takes students around campus and slightly off campus to popular destinations in golf cart type vehicles. Few students are aware of this new feature, so Zen is not reaching their full target market. The rides are about $2 per person, or available for a $10 subscription for weekdays. 2. Restate the problem as the research questions that you will address. (1 pt) ● What factors push people to want to use transportation services? 3. Briefly explain your expected research design. Describe some of the types of data and methods that you might use to answer your research questions. (1 pt) ● Expected Research Design: ○ Conduct Surveys, Nominal Groups, In depth interview ● Types of Data and Methods We Might Use: ○ Utilize secondary data on surveys regarding student transportation around campus. Analyze percentages of each mode of transportation and ask in the surveys why certain modes are preferred. 4. Provide some of the potential actions that you might recommend a manager to make as a result of your research. You cannot make a specific recommendation until your project is done, so your task here is to anticipate some of the recommendations that could come out of your work that would be of some value to the organization. (1 pt) ● Anticipated Potential Actions We Recommend: ○ We might recommend that they broaden their services, beyond shuttles. ○ We might recommend that they provide safety protocol to make customers feel more comfortable using a service with people they don’t know. ○ We might recommend that they make the brand more known across campus through marketing advertisements or anything just so that students have more brand awareness ○ We might recommend they extend their services to other campuses besides just Tempe. ○ We might recommend they offer a free service for first comers so that they can try it out. 5.
