Straight joint
Aim.
To solder two pieces of copper by using a spool of solder for making straight joint
Apparatus.
Cutting plier ,Nose plier ,soldering iron, solder 1.6mm, copper wire 1.2mm.
Procedure .
Strip and clean both wires for 150 mm from one end
Cross the conductors at 100 mm from the ends.
Hold the left hand conductor firmly and wind the right hand conductor
on it. Give around 4 twists.
Similar procedure is repeated for the overside.
Solder the whole length of the joint.
Application
This joint is used in overhead lines for extending the length of wire where the joint
Subjected to considerable tensile strength.
Result
The given pieces of wire are joined using straight joint and soldered

T-joint

T-joint
To solder two pieces of copper by using a spool of solder for making T-joint
Apparatus.
Cutting plier ,Nose plier ,soldering iron, solder 1.6mm, copper wire 1.2mm.
Procedure
Strip and clean thorough piece for a distance of 40 mm in the centre.
Strip and clean one end of the T-piece for 100 mm.
Tightly bind T-piece wire around thorough against the lay of the wire
Cut off the surplus wire and solder the whole length of the joint.
Application
This joint is used in overhead lines for extending the length of wire where the joint
Subjected to considerable tensile strength.
Result
The given pieces of wire are joined using. T-joint and soldered,

Britannia joint
Aim.
To solder three pieces of copper by using a spool of solder for making britannia joint.
Apparatus.
Cutting plier ,Nose plier ,soldering iron, solder 1.6mm, copper wire 1.2mm.
Procedure
Strip and clean one end of each piece for75 mm.
Bend the 5 mm end length of each conductor at right
angles to the axis of wire.
Tightly bind both conductors with a very thin tinned copper wire
and solder the whole length of the joint.
Application
This joint is used in join thick wires such as telephone wires
Result
The given pieces of wire are joined using. Britannia-joint and soldered,
