OVERALL MECHANICS OF THE AMAZING RACE 1. There will be 6 teams composed of 46-47 members from Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. 2. Each team will have a corresponding color to represent the team. The assigned colors are as follows: ● ● ● ● ● ● Team 1 - Yellow Team 2 - Green Team 3 - Red Team 4 - Pink Team 5 - Blue Team 6 - Orange 3. Days prior to the nursing day (May 12, 2023), the teams will be posted on the NSC FB page and will be asked to create group chats. Each team will have one team leader and one assistant team leader. 4. All team leaders and assistant team leaders will be oriented by the game committee about the general overview of the Amazing Race and other specific instructions for the teams. 5. Each team will be asked to prepare the following before the day of the Amazing Race: a. Witty Team Name b. 20-second Team Yell c. Tentative Names of Players for each Station i. Station 1: 10 players ii. Station 2: 5 players iii. Station 3: 5 players iv. Station 4: 10 players v. Station 5: 5 players vi. Station 6: No limit d. Identify 5 members from the team to be part of the food com 6. Before the start of the Amazing Race, each team will present their team name and team yell. 7. At the beginning of the Amazing Race, each team will be given 3 flaglets of their corresponding color and 1 egg. 8. The teams will be tasked to keep the flaglets and the egg intact all throughout the race. The flaglets and the egg should be held by team members who will be playing at each station. The flaglets and the egg have corresponding points to be added at the end of the game. 9. The opposing teams will be allowed to steal the other team’s flaglets. The stolen flaglets will be added to their points. 10. There will be 6 stations scattered around different locations in the campus. Each station corresponds to a name of a known nursing theorist / personality. In the clue cards that will be given to each team, riddles or statements about these theorists / personalities are found. The teams must determine the correct answer in order to find the right location. 11. All teams will gather on the starting point (TAC Ground Floor) and team leaders will be given their first clue cards containing the first stations that they will be going to. 12. At each station, assigned station masters will check the clue cards and will confirm if the teams got to the correct stations. 13. Instructions about the games will be given by the station masters. The tabulators / timekeepers will keep track of the time spent and the points gathered by the teams. 14. After completing the games or tasks in each station, the station masters will give the clue cards for the next station. The team must determine the answer to the riddle / statement for the next station before the game masters can tell them the next location. 15. After completing all the stations, the team will go back to the starting point (TAC Ground Floor) and will find the grand station master. Once found, the team must shout their team yell to gain 10 points. Each flaglet kept by the team at the end of the race will be worth 5 points, while the undamaged egg will be worth 15 points. 16. To identify the Champions of Nightingales, all the points gathered by the teams for the entire race will be added. 17. The team who has the highest points will be declared the winner. 18. The other teams will be ranked accordingly. 19. Prizes and awards will be given to the winning teams. 20. Special awards will also be given for the teams with the best team name and the best yell. ● ● Bring the following: ○ utensils (spoons & forks) ○ disposable cups (for their ice cream) ○ water ○ trashbags ○ extra clothes (shirts, pants, underwear) ○ medications Dress code: ○ Any nursing shirt / intrams jersey ○ Jogging Pants / Shorts (but change inside school)
