Two or more events are said to be independent if the
happening of one does not affect the probability of the
happening of the others.

If the minute hand moves a distance x, the hour hand moves
a distance of x/12.
In 12 hours, the minute – hand and the hour – hand of the
clock overlap each other for 11 times (not 12 times). So in one
day, they will be together 22 times.

2.) If 3 is subtracted from the numerator of a certain
fraction, the value of the fraction becomes 3/5. If one is
subtracted from the denominator of the same fraction, the

3.) The sum of three numbers is 51. If the first number is
divided by the second, the quotient is 2 and the remainder is
5, but if the second number is divided by the third, the
quotient is 3 and the remainder is 2. Find the smallest of the
three numbers.

4.) The larger of the two numbers is 5/2 the smaller. If twice
the smaller is subtracted from twice the larger, the

denominator. If the numerator and denominator are
