Comment
Derek operated very well in the crew composition for the day.
Flight planning and fuel selection was done as a team which set the tone for the flight.
Very good PM. Derek was allowed to run his sector with little interruption as PF, also well done.
Improvement in the subjects discussed will add some polish to an overall good performance.

Procedures / Technical
Generally good adherence to new procedures.
remember to ensure 121.5 always reselected
immediately after talking to next ATC unit on com2
If suspect traffic above in climb, select 1000fpm for
last 2000 feet.
It is important to check ACK displayed when
acknowledging load sheet.
Very good PM role.
Memory items recalled correctly, but with some
hesitation.
Preparation for any flight should include a thorough
knowledge of memory items and limitations.

When briefing the eosid, brief what you will actually
will do. If eosid says climb to 6300 by 27miles,
but you intend to return to the dep airport at MSA,
brief it.
A lot of eosids are based on worst case, i.e. diverting
after a failure, so don't just blindly read it.

Communications
Derek managed his sector very well.
When appropriate, Derek invited discussion from the
PM, rather than making all decisions alone.
As such, no significant input was required from the
Captain.
