What is
poverty
Po ve r t y i s a p ro b l e m i n w h i c h
human beings do not have enough
money to have basic needs like
meals, housing, and healthcare
because of the lack of sanitation.
It could have an effect on human's
health and possibilities in life.
Many people die eac h month from
dehydration, star vation and
illness. It could also affect
people's education as most
people in poverty can't read as
they have a lac k of books
because of the costs and they may
need to stay home to look after
their family whic h means they
could never get the opportunity to
go to school.
Who does it
affect
Poverty affects a wide range of people across the world, but it tends to
have a more significant impact on vulnerable populations such as women,
children, elderly individuals, and those living in rural or marginalized
communities. Poverty often leads to a lack of access to basic needs such
as food, shelter, healthcare, and education, which can result in poor health
outcomes, limited job opportunities, and social isolation. Furthermore,
poverty can be an adverse problem, as it can lead to a lack of resources
and opportunities for future generations, perpetuating the cycle of
poverty. Therefore, poverty affects not only individuals but also entire
communities and societies, highlighting the urgent need for effective
solutions to address this global issue.

HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN
GOING ON FOR?
Throughout history, poverty has been a problem due to inadequate access to resources. As
societies developed, a small group of people became wealthy, while others had to work hard
to survive without the help of the rich. In some societies, poverty was blamed on the poor,
rather than the governmental structure. Poverty has taken different forms over time, such as
during the industrial revolution and the 20th century. Even after all this time today, millions of
people still live in extreme poverty, lacking basic necessities. Despite efforts to address
poverty, more work is needed to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.

DONE ABOUT THIS
?
WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS
FOR POVERTY?
Reducing poverty involves addressing a range of social, economic, and political factors such as
lack of access to basic services, limited economic opportunities, discrimination, environmental
degradation, and political instability. A good approach to this involves multiple groups such as
governments and civil society organizations to help. An efficiant way to do this is to focus
solving problems individually, some such problems are; education, social safety nets, job
