It will also assist in increasing knowledge and transforming existing processes to better serve changing needs and expectations of patients and staff. The context within which we deliver healthcare is increasingly complex and challenging. Technological innovations, the challenge of environmental changes, the changing demographic patterns we see within our local catchment and other external factors are all shaping the way healthcare will be delivered in the future. The interface between the innovation and clinical services are key to the success of this program. The Clinical Innovation candidate will liaise closely with clinical services ensuring appropriate application and governance of new technologies and solutions in healthcare. The Clinical Innovation position an exciting opportunity at the core of the strategic development of Innovation and the establishment of Innovate Health at Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) www.innovatehealthtuh.ie. This is an exciting role with flexibility and the ability to influence and impact Innovation within the organization. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting ideas, design, innovation, collaboration, and initial implementation of initiatives led by frontline staff at TUH. The candidate can be a full time or part time commitment for a one-year period this would allow the candidate to remain in clinical practice or pursue other interests if desired. The candidate will require and develop key management and leadership skills, with regular executive management team interaction. The candidate will be responsible for engaging and supporting new innovation projects as well as securing their proper execution. They are instrumental in creating a productive working relationship with staff and external parties engaged in innovation projects. The candidate will be supported to pursue 1 clinical day per week in a subspecialty areas of interest within TUH and supported to pursue their own educational interests. There will be the opportunity for innovation presentations, education and publications. Qualifications Each candidate must on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office:Be registered in the Medical Practitioners, NMBI or CORU. Have clinical experience Demonstrated leadership, for example by audit or being a course trainer, or other. Principle Duties AND Responsibilities Report to the Head of Innovation, and will be under the clinical supervision of a Consultant who is aligned to their chosen clinical speciality. During the appointment the successful candidate will participate in and deliver a quality health care service. Partake in educational activities, both locally in the department and in the hospital, as required. Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of medical care to patients; Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of patients; Communicate effectively with patients and clients; Represent the department / profession / team at meetings and conferences as appropriate Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality and ethics Seek advice and assistance from the Consultant / Clinical Director / Employer with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope of his / her professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance; Engage in technological developments as they apply to the patient and service administration Perform other duties as required by the supervisor. History of higher specialist training would be preferable, but not essential The ability to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues is a key requirement for all healthcare professionals. Sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence based practice to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role. An ability to apply knowledge to evidence based practice. Effective team skills and leadership potential. Ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner. An ability to manage and develop self in a busy working environment.
