1. Introduce the statement of purpose
to the learners.
2. Word Hunt (Group activity): the
learners will hunt / shade all the
words they can see on the activity
sheet that are related to properties
of matter.
1. Using the LAS week 1, the
learners will read pages 3-8 on
the properties of matter,
separation techniques, and
formulas of common substances.
They will also read pages 2-7 of
the LAS, week 2 on consumer
products.
(The learners will classify the words
according to the properties of matter
whether intrinsic, extrinsic,
physical, or chemical) The teacher
will process the activity.

Station Rotation (Group Work) :
Each group will be assigned a
separation technique to perform:
Station 1: Decantation
Station 2: Filtration
Station 3: Distillation
Station 4: Chromatography
Group leaders or assigned
reporter share their learnings
for each station.
Students will bring household
product labels then they will identify
the common substances present
and their formulas, uses, safeness,
and cost
(See table attached)

The activity will be presented by
the members, and it will be
processed by the teacher
Mind mapping (Group Act):
The students will create a mind map
linking all the concepts learned. (the
learners will present then the teacher
will process the activity)

The learner will watch a video
presentation on the separation
techniques of mixtures to
understand more the topic.
Then the learner will answer the
guide questions that will be
given by the teacher. (the link
will be given)

Students will look for a
household product with a label
then he/she will identify the
common substances present
and their formulas, uses,
safeness, and cost. (See table
attached

The student will create a mind map

The learners will answer a 10-15 items
quiz using the Lumi app.

Group Activity:
The learners will make a ‘tapey”. They
will identify 3 or more separation
techniques in the process of making
tapey. They will document the process
through video. They will describe in
15-20 sentences the process of
separation techniques observed.

teacher)

Integrative Assessment Approaches in TLE,
(Other learning areas will provide their own
rubrics)
