Mwangi 1 Assignment: Hydrogeology of Delmonte Area Mwangi Julius I13/1560/2019 University of Nairobi SGL 406 Ms. Githinji T. W Dr. Tanui F. J Mwangi 2 Qn 1 & 2 Hydrological Profile along Boreholes 1169, 1601, 2175, 2815, 2922, 2815 1600 1500 1400 1300 1200 1100 1000 1 2 3 Alt A_Depth 4 A_wsl 5 6 A_wrl From the hydrological profile shown above, the aquifer depicted is can be said to be a confined aquifer. This conclusion has been reached seeing that the absolute water rest level (A_wrl) is above the absolute water struck level (A_wsl). This is to say that, during the well/borehole development, the water was struck at the unconfined layer then drilling continued down to the unconfined aquifer. The water finally settled at the physiometric level which is its (wrl). Qn 3 From the transmissivity map shown (Attached), it is seen that the areas in blue have high transmissivity value which means that these areas have a high groundwater potential. Conversely, the areas depicted in yellow have low transmissivity values which translates to low groundwater potential.
